It maybe cheap, but there's a reason for it.
Off initial entry into my room, I was immediately greeted by a unvacuumed room. There was dirt and food crumbs everywhere. The bed was also not the cleanest, the towels that were provided looked as though they had been simply "washed" by dunking it into some water and ringing it out. The AC/Heating unit does not run properly as it will shut off approx. 2 minutes after setting the temperature when it is very clearly NOT at the temperature that you set it to.
The rooms over all structure felt decrepit and falling apart. Electrical outlets were falling out of the walls making it impossible to plug anything into, the paint seeming as though it is just falling off the walls, and the lighting was terrible, reminded me of a truckers gas station. Even the door doesn't properly seal making you quite uncomfortable and unsafe. Thankfully, the bathroom to my surprise was the only thing clean.
Now, I also don't usually have any sort of allergies, but each time i was in this room, My eyes would begin to itch and water so horribly from either the dust or mold growing in the room. If are known to have bad allergy's, save yourself.
The location itself is poor, there's little to nothing around, just about nothing for food or convince. And most the local pizza shops that delivery, are closed Sunday, Monday, and Tuesdays!!!
Do yourself a favor. Spend that $15s more and stay at any of the hotels in the...
Read moreI won't be coming back. The entire motel is generally dirty and all decorations and bed linens look really old. I think the room that we were in was not originally a room. The walls were exterior cinder block that were just painted. The closet and bathroom were obviously afterthoughts that were slapped together by someone with no construction experience. The lights for the mirror were a string of USB LED lights stuck to the edge and falling off in places. The door to the room was hanging at an angle and barely latched, you could see light coming in all around it, and only had the lock on the handle (no additional lock like you see on most hotel doors). The floor in the bathroom and sink area outside the bathroom had an odd slimy, slippery film on them. We were not sure what it was at first, but we were definitely not taking our shoes off. Later we figured out that it was because the toilet wouldn't flush and instead overflowed all over the floor. When we reported it, we were yelled at. We took a chance on staying here because it was the closest hotel to where we were going, but the convenience was...
Read moreWe needed a place to spend a night in this general vicinity, and I chose the Red Carpet Inn based on online reviews and the low price. It has been a long time since we stayed in an old-fashioned motel, and I wasn't sure what we'd find. A mild moldy odor when I went to the office to check in did not increase my comfort level, as I waited for the clerk who finally showed up. The room turned out to be fine for our needs, old but clean, comfortable, well-maintained, and well-equipped including even microwave and refrigerator. Very slight odor, my wife thought mildew, overcome by burning the vanilla candle I take when I travel. Minor problem with the sticking flapper valve in the toilet. Parking the car outside the door of our room was super-convenient. There is a lot of highway noise from the highway just in front of the motel, but it did not bother us. I would stay there again. As we expected, no other frills, like breakfast, were included. The room was small but adequate. We had a little difficulty getting connecting to wifi, but once we did it...
