This place only makes money because of it's location. My husband and I rented a room for a 2 night stay while visiting my mother. The room smelled like dirty basement, everything was damp, the sheets were dirty with hairs all over them, the tub was filthy (like not ever cleaned dirty, not just behind the last guest), there were toothpaste spots all over the mirror, tables were dusty, beverages left in the fridge from the previous guest in an unplugged refrigerator that smelled like death, and the floor was un-vacuumed, probably for quite a while. Upon speaking to other guests who were sitting outside, I learned that they were outside because of the dampness and smell. One man said it's closest to where he likes to fish, so they come and sleep with their clothes on.I work in housekeeping management, and had realistic expectations for this room. We were just looking for a clean place to sleep and this place did not produce. I didn't expect a 5 star room, but I did expect a clean one. We couldn't stay another night because of it all, and when I asked upon checkout if we could be refunded the second night since the first night's stay was so horrendous. She refused, saying all hotel's policies wouldn't allow for a refund. A bold lie, as I have worked in hotels. We should've slept in the car, but we really tried just dealing with it because it was so late. I laid towels down over the top of the bedspread to lay on because thats how damp everything was. The reviews claiming that these rooms are clean and comfy are likely family to the owners, as we spoke to several other guests there that said the same things. Drive a little further, pay a little more.....but do...

The cost is equal to or more expensive than facilities with more amenities. Honestly, for one night it wasn't terrible but we left as soon as we woke up. We chose to cut our vacation short rather than stay a second night after driving 7.5 hours to get there, the weather was going to be poor but had the place been a bit cleaner we would have stayed and waited out the storm. The need new linens or to learn what bleach is, they need better a cleaning crew or a better process on how to clean. Id hate to see the maid staff's homes. They have wifi but it didn't work. The cable was convenient. Honestly, it smelled clean but I requested a vacuum to vacuum the room myself as there were dozens of tiny rocks all over the floor in the room. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else if you can. There were no bugs or signs of pests. They had free coffee in the gas station but no one told.us about it. They do allow pets for $20/night more. The day shift staff was much more friendly than the evening staff was...
Read moreI called the day of because reservations were unavailable online. I was told that it would be $75 for a two queen bedroom. Didn’t have my wallet on me so I called back later and booked. I was told I could pay at the counter when I got there and again verified that it would be $75. We were going to arrive after the gas station closed so we were called and told to use a lockbox that was “in front of our room.” (Again during this phone call, verified price.) Searched around the building, it was nowhere to be found. It’s in front of the gas station. We entered the room and it was damp, musty, and dirty. The remote was lost under the bed. Unknown fluids on the TV screen. No soap in the bathroom. Quarter of a roll of toilet paper. Pillows are flat as can be, and hairs all over our beds. Upon checking out, I was charged $100. The woman told me that’s policy and the way it works even though I verified multiple times that it would be $75. She was rude and I was in a hurry, so I paid it and left. Even with extremely low expectations, this place couldn’t meet them. All we wanted was a decent place to sleep and shower. We will not be returning nor ever...
