Lisa & Duane - we are so grateful for you and your beautiful property/cabins! We stayed the first week of Feb and enjoyed the solitude of a mid-week mini vacation in the Woodsman - we were immediately thrilled by the surrounds of rolling hills, the glowing green eyes of large groupings of deer as we shone our flashlight to and fro, and the vast, tranquil lake at the bottom of the downhill slope behind our rental. We arrived in the night and woke to swirling fog mixed with intermittent rain & sleet with a short span of time to scope out the property and let our puppy, Virgo, get a firsthand experience as her daddy did a little fishing. The cabin itself was gorgeous and the interior decor with its fireplace, clean surfaces and immaculate floors were just what we needed - despite the torrential rains, violet flashes of lightning and bone-chilling winds we experienced on our last night; we remained cozy, warm and at peace. 10 stars? The view upon waking for our final morning as the sun was climbing into the sky and we were blessed with the sparkling, wind-swept pristine energy of a perfect blue sky. The full panoramic view with such a blissful, crisp look to an early spring morning inspired us to capture as many photos of the grounds and the lake prior to our packing up and heading home - and for a fishing/nature excursion getaway spent largely indoors due to the weather? We couldn't have spent it anywhere else with such happy, contented hearts. We thank you again for your hospitality and for sharing your exquisitely-maintained property with us....

My wife and I booked a last minute stay to celebrate her 30th birthday after cancelling a long planned trip to Colorado, and I must say, I'm actually kind of glad it all happened this way. Lisa and Duane's cabins are nothing short of magical. The Sedona was just as luxurious and cozy as the website showed and the setting nestled in the mountains on a private lake is truly top notch. Crabtree Falls and Humpback Rocks were hiking favorites (go early in the AM to beat the crowds) and we kayaked with resident North American River Otters in the lake just steps from the cabin. We watched a thunderstorm roll in from the beautiful covered porch and enjoyed home made pizza over the fire pit (I also highly recommend spending an extra $25 to have wood delivered to your site and covered with a tarp), as well as a fully stocked kitchen to cook inside. The property also has wonderful walking trails for an evening stroll and an adorable beach area with wildflower gardens to watch the sunset. Everything we could have thought we needed was taken care of and the trip really couldn't have been more perfect - except for maybe if it was longer! We will certainly be back again and can't wait to experience another beautiful week at Southern Comfort Lakeside Cabin Resort. ||||P.S.
