Hannah, Katie & Bill have created the perfect getaway right on the Gasconade and we are so thankful for them! We have camped twice with them since November and have 2 more booked before the end of the year. What I love the most, aside from how personable and accommodating the three of them are (their customer service is top notch!)...they let our groups arrange our campers so we all open into a common space...very rare. And their spaces are larger than usual so you have plenty of room but still the camping community feel. They check on you throughout your stay to see if you need anything but they also visit and get to know their campers. Your good time is super important to them.
The campground itself is located right on the river and has a wide gravel bar for putting in/taking out (they also offer float services!). We spent yesterday just sitting in our chairs out in the middle of the river and it was so relaxing. They have full hookup, water/electric, and primitive sites. They let you fish in their stocked pond and they are super pet friendly. They also have a large, fully furnished home that overlooks the river, separate from the campsites, that can be rented for events.
I have no complaints and can't wait until our next visit! If you haven't stayed with them, you really should take a weekend, or a week, and head there. Thank you Hannah (she's their daughter but we all know she runs the place 😆), Katie and Bill and see...
Read moreI wish I would’ve taken some pictures, but we didn’t stay long and it was raining when we took off. My family and I have been floating Missouri rivers for many years. We have never stayed at a nicer campground! Froggy’s grounds and staff were wonderful!! We could tell that the owners and staff work very hard to not only make their campground kept up, but also to keep their guests happy. They accommodated us and our friends when we and they needed extension chords and when we needed a little extra time after check out. Very helpful and kind. We also loved the free-roaming pet dogs (they were very nice and not bothersome at all; just looking for hand-outs) and chickens and ducks!
Our float experience was good too. They shuttled us 6 miles up the Gasconade River. The river was down due to lack of rain. The staff offered to replace our rafts with kayaks, but we managed. The river was VERY calm, it took us all day with a bit of paddling. But it took us right to the campground. We loved camping right next to the river because we could easily walk down to the river and play in the water if it was too hot.
We will be back to...
Read moreWe came drive up from Eastern N.C. for our daughter Marines Military Police Graduation. HooRaa. Although this campground is 20 minutes away from gate at Fort Leanord Wood. After researching places and personally seeing the others on our commute to base. Froggys is the place to stay. Still in development (showers and toilet facilities), the space between sites is great. Others in area stack you on top of one an another like a NY City block; Froggys had some space in between. The river is shallow in the area and it border Mark Twain State Parrk/Forest. We searched for arrowheads which are scattered throughout area. The iwner Chris .are our stay great with any help we needed and also sold us a great amount of firewood at the best price I've had at anyplace. I like grass spots so this was perfect. We were mid week stay at end of season. IT is scenic and spots are very level... If your visiting for a Military Graduation or to visit your soldier; your kids and soldier will appreciate the beauty and river access. We didn't float the river due to time of bring our girl back to base. But is definitely a fun...
