Squeaky Clean! A beautifully maintained little gem of a motel on the Trinity River! This is an older motor court built in 1958. Over the years it has been a favorite stop for fishermen searching for prime salmon, steelhead and German brown trout.
We were visiting relatives in Weaverville and they booked us a room here due to its' reputation as a nice place to stay for a reasonable rate. Currently, the room rates for the standard Queen and King rooms range between $110 - $145. In the main building on the second floor there is a large 2 BR apt that ranges from $245 - $270. There is also a King Suite on the second floor. The second single story building has 6 six 1 and 2 BR units with kitchenettes and patios with grills. These units range from as low as $135 to as much as $185 depending upon day of week and season, of course.
What initially impressed me as we entered our spacious room was how sparkling clean the room appeared. It even smelled fresh! I was a custodian for many years and I have a pretty good eye for these things. Carpets, drapes, windows all perfectly maintained. Not even a speck of dust on window sills, picture frames, etc. The room had a rustic feel but had all of the modern conveniences. Nice TV, plenty of plugs for your devices, Wifi etc. I've attached photos.
Another impressive aspect are the grounds. The Lodge is a 2 acre riverfront property on the beautiful Trinity River. It is obviously family friendly with a fire pit, BBQ area, gathering areas and direct access to the river.
Finally, there were lots of special touches. The desk clerk was very warm and friendly. The lobby very quaint with local crafts. Upon check in the clerk pulled out fresh locally roasted coffee beans and ground them for us on the spot. There is a very nice continental breakfast in the lobby with delicious local baked goods and more delicious local coffee. The lodge has a restaurant, the The Cafe at Indian Creek, open 7 days a week for dinner. We did not get a chance to eat here but were told that it is quite good.
Bottom line, the Indian Creek Lodge is a great place to stay if you are heading to this area. We will definitely stay here the next time we are travelling...
Read moreNot a high-end hotel, this is a lodge. If you're looking for a resort, good luck! There is not much in the area. If you're looking for a mountain lodge that caters to anglers in this area, this is your place. If you just want a clean room to get some rest in a mountain environment or on a road trip, this is the place. I have stayed here many many times for work. The rooms are clean, the grounds are cared for, plenty of property to walk and enjoy. Lots of nature and wildlife and right on the river. Some rooms have kitchenettes, they are well stocked. Lots of charcoal grills and 1 propane grill. The staff is extremely accommodating, I have never had a bad experience with the staff, they do a great job! There are traveling workers, but not the loud kind. For the vacationers, please keep in mind that while we drive trucks and stay at your lodges, we are staying all year long rather than 1 weekend a year and these places need income year-round to survive, we support them year round so you can enjoy your retreat! This is a remote and quiet location, even with workers staying here. Most workers just need a quiet night's sleep. The staff is very responsive, if somebody is making too much noise they will quickly shut it down, which I appreciate. Fishing is a big part of the lodge, a big steelhead area. There are few options in the area, but I would stay here even if big chains were available. Rates are fair. They are adding services, like the café and breakfast, but I have not tried them. I would suggest (if they read the reviews) that they replace the tiny old TVs with larger flat screens. They provide direct TV but my phone screen is easier to watch and new TVs are super cheap right now. Not everyone cares about TV while fishing,...
Read moreI stayed here on a Fri and Saturday night by myself while visiting a relative in Lewiston. It's only 30 mins away but worth it!! The staff is excellent and very nice, my room was very clean and so cute. They provide good quality toiletries, 5 fluffy pillows on a comfy queen bed, excellent ac that comes with a remote and a ceiling fan. Nice size very clean shower, and linens. There's a window in the bathroom with a view and cute windows that you can open in front. A bonus is that it's extra quiet. You can't hear anyone else above or next to you and not outside either. They offer breakfast also but I didn't have time to try it. They have food, drinks and snacks for sale in the office and they offer free smores kits for guests. They sit on a huge property next to Trinity River where you can swim or fish. There's a fire pit with chairs, bbq's and lots of places to sit. The have Keurig coffee pots along with complimentary coffee and hot apple cider. There a nice fridge and microwave also. I stayed in room #1 right next to the office which was quiet and convenient. All the staff I met were great and took the time to chat. I will be coming to the area to visit often now and this will be my new regular place to stay. For $160/night it's Def worth it since all the other hotels in the area charge the same price. The drive is scenic and beautiful. The 1and only complaint i had was that if you want the ceiling fan on over the bed, the switch also turns on the closet light which kinda sucks but considering what can go wrong at a hotel i could live with the light but not without the fan. I would recommend this cute lodge to everyone. Thank you for a wonderful stay! I for sure will be...
