Cloud 9 Resort — Hotel in Webber Township

My family and I found this location in central Michigan while looking for a spot on our way from Illinois to Mackinac Island, to stop and recharge. We found Cloud 9! We stayed 3 nights at this location. From booking to checkout, John and his wife Rhonda were wonderful hosts. Their staff member Heather, was also very helpful. They all made our stay as comfortable as possible! Each cabin is different and has a specific arrangement. There is an outdoor pool on site. There is a huge fire pit complete with an "up north" fire starter (for those of you who have watched the "Red Green Show"). While we were here we enjoyed a couple of nice spots in Baldwin, as Cloud9 is close enough to town to get to quickly, but not so close that you have to deal with the town itself. It is a quiet spot with ample parking and nearby trails to walk. We went floating in a raft nearby and John/Rhonda can recommend good places. There are things to do here year-round though. You can come trout fishing and maybe even trout catching... if you are lucky. John also puts on a salmon-camp every year. He is supposedly a renowned fishing trainer/outfitter, but I have not put that to the test. There accommodations are suitable for those interested in winter activities such as snowmobiling. The only area where I think that this location could improve is that one of the 4 beds in our cabin was VERY firm. The other beds were varying degrees of soft. If you are anywhere near central Michigan for any reason, this is a great place...

Please don't look for pictures of Cloud 9 under "resort" in the dictionary. You'll never find them there. While Cloud 9 has no swim up bar in the pool, jacuzzis, or work out facilities, it is a dream location for people wanting to come up for a fishing or canoeing trip on the Pere Marquette River, or any other northwoods activity. The cabins are clean and decently equipped for a short or long stay in the area. ||||I've been lucky enough to join a group of folks that have been salmon fishing the area for more than 30 consecutive years. This has been the lodging of choice for over 20 of those years. We know that a quick call to Cloud 9 will result in a REAL and accurate report on river conditions (some of the other local establishments will have you believe that conditions are ALWAYS perfect and the fish are jumping into your waiting net). When we we do drag in from a long day on the river, we know a cleaning station is ready and waiting for us. After that a hot shower and off to a comfortable bed so we can start again in a few hours.||||If you are an outdoors enthusiast, this is your place. If you are looking for a bellhop and a maid to turn down the sheets.... well, you best keep looking, For usm we would never consider...
