Super 8 by Wyndham Kutztown/Allentown Area — Hotel in Weisenberg Township

I stayed at the hotel on Saturday night 10/18 overnight til Sunday, 10/19. I arrived at approximately 9:20pm.

I asked for and received a room on the 1st floor. When I asked to front desk if they have decaf coffee she stated to me no because no one drinks it. Don't know how she can assume that information.

I then askd for a wakeup call at 6:15 am from the front desk which they said fine. I usually set an alarm for the clock in the room but there was none in the room.

I get up the next morning on Sunday and there is no wakeup call in which they tell me they tried and their system works.

Next, I wanted to get a shower and when I proceeded to get one the tub was full of dirt and their were paint chips around the tub. I mentioned these things to the front desk and she asked me if I wanted to move to another room. I informed her it was too late as I had to leave in 20 minutes. I mentioned to the front desk person that I would like some refund for these things. She said I have to talk to my manager.

The manager finally gets back to me after 3 days when I tried contacting her. She stated no refund because I had 25 minutes when I initially checked it to report this information and there was a sign at the front desk stating this information. Well there was no sign at the front desk and no hotel that I have stayed in ever has this policy.

This is totally ridiculous. They care nothing about customers and only their pockets. I will be reporting them to the BBB. The bathroom was horrible and I did not notice it til the am.

Please do yourself a favor and don't stay here. It is dirty and run by a lousy manager. This is totally ridiculous as I had to deal...

This is the second time I've stayed at this establishment. It's the least expensive place in the area, and as I'm in business for myself, I watch my costs carefully. All I need is a clean place to lay my head after a days work. I don't need fancy or updated. Just clean and functional. The first time I stayed here last year, I was disappointed but again, I watch my money when I'm on the road for business.... You know how our brains try to block out traumatic experiences as a defense mechanism? Well, I now remember that I wanted to write a review last year, but had forgotten to do so.... This place is trash. It's disgusting on so many levels....just dirty. And the people who "work" here don't care...at all. I actually overheard them talk about how "low the standards are" at their own place of work. Garbage cans overflowing everywhere. People walking around the halls that just didn't seem like guests of the hotel...Lightbulbs out everywhere....holes punched in the drop ceilings of the hallways THAT HAVE BEEN LIKE THAT FOR A YEAR because the same ones were there the 1st time I stayed. This hotel was maxed out. NO VACANCY. $85 a night. (again, I know...what do you expect for $85 a night?) You can't hire a staff to clean? You can't replace ceiling tiles or lightbulbs? I would expect this from a hotel that has "hourly" or "weekly" rates...Not a Super 8. To the Owner: you should be embarrassed. To any one else looking for an inexpensive place to stay...splurge the extra $25 to stay a mile or 2 away. I promise...you'll thank me. As for me: Fool me twice...shame on me. This place is an insult to a Trashy hotel. Go elsewhere. ...

I stayed here a week or two ago but I kept forgetting to review. I checked in after midnight, which is great because some hotels don’t let you check in after a certain time but I was assured there is a worker there to check you in any time of night. The night lady was very kind and helpful, a lot of the time I go to places and they sleep at night which is fine but they tend to be cranky when woken up. I forget her name but she had glasses, hope that helps. She was bright eyed, kind and helpful. She didn’t seem bothered to talk to me (you know a lot of places it’s all business and they don’t want to small talk? Not here!) she actually made me feel welcome, wanted, and appreciated. Top tier employee right here. The room, however, could be improved. It smelled stale in the room and had some kind of bad smell, like dirty dish water. Air freshener was trying to cover it up but you could still smell it. Room clean for the most part but the tub needed a deep cleaning The toilet seat was loose but the desk lady came up and tightened it for me (I offered to do it myself but I didn’t have anything to tighten it). I wouldn’t be complaining about any of this if the price of the room was cheaper. I left early morning and the night woman was still there still just as chipper as earlier, and wished me safe travels. She asked me to leave a review if I get a chance and here it is.
