Great campsites, the rustic sites back up to woods and have a field in front where you can play their disc golf course. A walk away from the toilet and shower which were very clean. Also they offer an awesome deal for kayaking the betsie River which is so beautiful and is quite adventurous and fast paced. Sleeping bear is an easy day trip as we went to Beulah, Empire Bluffs, the dunes/scenic drive, up to glen Arbor, then easily back to BRCC in time for sunset and fire starting. Amy was fast to reply and the camp host made sure we were settled in with fire wood on the first night when we arrived late (~11pm). Thank you Amy and Ryan! 2024 Update: came back for a third straight year because we enjoy this campsite and river so much. We did the shorter trip this time and the river was just as beautiful as ever, thank you Ryan and Amy for being great hosts and helping out whenever needed!

My friend and I recently spent four days and three nights at this campground, and it was an absolutely excellent experience from start to finish. The facilities are immaculate and meticulously maintained, ensuring that we never once felt uncomfortable during our stay. The bathrooms, in particular, were a highlight – each one equipped with the same high-quality air fresheners used in upscale hotels, leaving them smelling fresh and clean at all times.

The campground offers electricity on-site and is pet-friendly, which made our stay even more convenient and enjoyable. The daily rates are quite reasonable, providing great value for the extensive amenities and activities available. There's no shortage of things to do: from kayaking, canoeing, and hiking to swimming and playing volleyball.

The owner, Amy, and the camp host (whose name escapes me, but he was incredibly friendly and helpful) are both fantastic. They made us feel welcomed and were extremely knowledgeable about the local area, offering great tips and insights.

The campground's location is also worth highlighting. It’s perfectly situated just 40 minutes from both Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City, making it an ideal base for exploring the northwestern shores, lush forests, and charming beach towns of Michigan.

We will definitely be returning next year, as this campground has set a new standard for our...

UPDATE: Please note that this review from a long time ago and is no longer valid. The campground was closed for a while and is now under new ownership. I have no idea what it is like now. I understand that the new owners have upgraded the power and 30 amp is now available.

The location was great. If you stay there, please rate and review it under the new ownership.

Stayed here for five nights. We used Betsie River Canoes & Campground for our base camp during our 53 mile Green Lake to Lake Michigan kayak trip on the Betsie River. The electric sites are only 20 amp but this was not a problem as the weather was great and never needed to use the AC. Mark and staff were great and did a fantastic job of taking care of us. What was really nice is that this isn't a "parking lot" camp ground. Lots of room to spread out. It was quiet, clean restrooms/showers and right on the Betsie River. The only reason I don't rate this as a five star is the lack of 30/50 amp service. But, sounds like the owner has plans for expanding and offering higher amp service...
