We love it here. It's cool being able to go for a swim in a beautiful lake. My dogs loved it too, there was enough of a sandy beach to make it comfortable for them. Bring your water shoes though. There were quite a few people fishing and kayaking. There's nice picnic grounds as well as campgrounds and the camp host is friendly and helpful(nice to our dogs too). The grounds are amazingly clean considering the population in such a small area. I don't worry about getting lost on a trail or one of the loops at the campground because you can see our RV from a distance and yet the bushes are tall enough to help with shade and a little privacy even though the sites are close to each other. No stars against this campground for not having water, repairs have been scheduled and you can go back down the mountain just 4 miles for your water. They reduced the price in half because of the water issue. We got water and dumped before going up the mountain anyway. The restrooms are clean I especially liked the path behind the restroom that was close to us, it gave us a short cut right to the lake. We were lucky to find a spot to hold our 22ft motorhome without having a reservation. We met someone who just paid for a day visit and parked their 5th wheel down the mountain in Wells, NV at an RV park. That's a nice option for those who don't want to drive their rig 12 miles...
Read moreOur actual camping experience was great! Loved our campsite, neighbors were courteous of each other. Camp host was an absolute wonderful lady who kept the campgrounds and facilities in tip top shape. Taking our little blow up kayak on the lake was fun. We enjoyed fishing. The only reason I dropped a star is because of the amount of fishing line, hooks, and garbage we saw on one of the shores we were fishing from and hanging out on. I brought a Grocery bag and cleaned up for a straight hour and a half. It is a safety concern for both the wildlife and the human visitors, as well as just a visual reminder that some people don't clean up after themselves. I know some of it is accidental and can't be helped when lines snag on rocks or trees and water levels are higher..but this was pretty crazy. It made me think of Mirror Lake in Washington State -- lots of visitors to fish and camp, but people left tons of fishing supplies and garbage behind. Heartbreaking. But the campgrounds and bathrooms themselves were wonderful. Would definitely go back. And now one of the beaches is clean and ready for a...
Read moreLast minute made it to Angel Lake Campground and it was the best night of our trip from FL to WA. We stayed July 3-4, 2024. The campsites are incredible and there are pit toilets. We used our Sawyer Squeeze to filter water from the waterfall, and it was excellent. We got a site with views of the waterfall and the valley you drive up to get to the campground. The drive is about 12 miles from town and there are some steep portions without any false reassurance walls! The hike to the waterfall was 10/10 worth it and the views were incredible - use AllTrails to help you find the right trails, download because you might struggle with all the animal trails and cell service is in and out - I had service by the lake/the left side of the lake with Verizon. We went swimming in the lake, a guy there was able to catch trout. Highly recommend this campground, each site had a fire pit and picnic table and gravel/hard dirt for the tent and pavement for...
