Update March, 2021.
We returned for a second trip to this location (our third Getaway) because we loved the first visit here after a not so good visit to the Atlanta location. We arrived after dark and couldn’t tell where our cabin was. We woke up and realized our picture window and campsite was set back only 20ft from a walking trail and people were staring in at us sleeping. This happened all daylight hours for three days. People walking directly in front of our window, every 20 minutes. We mostly had to keep the blinds shut to get any privacy which sort of defeats the object of going.
It felt like such a Greedy location to put a cabin.
We won’t be returning for a third visit. We do have a trip booked and paid for at the Chicago location but after that trip I think we will be back to Air BnBs. The Get Away experience is just so incredibly inconsistent and not worth the hassle.

We’re just back from our 3 night stay at Getaway Beaver Creek and it was really wonderful. I’m already checking the calendar to see when we can return.
This was our second stay with Getaway. We first tried the Atlanta Outpost a month or so back and Beaver Creek was easily and by far our favourite Outpost of the two. It was exactly what we had pictured based on what was shown on the website and aside from seeing our neighbours - which I think they do a great job of setting expectations for on their website - we really did feel a way from it all this time. Lovely views, very quiet and the woods are made up of amazingly tall trees. The fall colours were also just beautiful right now and I loved watching all the leaves fall outside our window.
There is also a nature trail on the property that is great for a short stroll after morning coffee - as one would expect being in the woods you definitely do need to pack your Deets, the ticks are still really active but big enough to see now. After a walk, which we were thankfully very wrapped up for, we caught a couple on our clothes and pulled a couple off of our dog’s jumper too. “Tick check” became a nightly ritual.
The cabins are really comfy, well equipped and warm. Like others have said the hot water situation was a bit hit or miss but one of us always got a warm shower, we chalked it up to the glamping experience.
We stayed Monday to Wednesday and the outpost looked fully booked but everyone was very quiet and respectful. At night you could only see and hear the crackle of everyone’s fires. We bought a load of extra wood with us to keep our fire going all evening and to create coals to cook outside with our Dutch Oven. I’d recommend packing one if you like to cook your comfort food outside but you can also just turn up with your toothbrush and food because everything is there for you.
Thanks Getaway for a perfect stay! We can’t wait to come back.
.....Also pretty please consider opening an Outpost...
Read moreGetting out of the city and staying at the Getaway cabin in Beaver Creek was one of the best decisions my partner and I could've made this year. The location is only an hour away from Pittsburgh (where we live) and the drive was smooth and without traffic.
The cabin itself was amazing. I'm a bit OCD and was concerned about bed bugs and critters but nope, nothing to worry about here. The space was clean and comfortable. It honestly surpassed our expectations and looked exactly like the pictures. Waking up next to the large window outlooking the trees and greenery was nothing short of breathtaking. The cabin had most of what you needed (a pot, pan, cups, cutlery, dish liquid, new sponge, dish towel, bath towels and washcloths etc). Also a nice sized fridge even to be a small one,fit all of our groceries.
The staff was very friendly as were the people we were staying around. Whenever you needed a trash pickup you'd just call the customer service phone number or send a text.
On our first and only full day there, it rained until the afternoon but it was still nice to be inside the cabin looking out of the window, napping and playing board games that we brought. Once the clouds passed and the sun came out we immediately got the fireplace going to grill up some salmon burgers, veggies and smores. They were delicious! The nice, albeit short, walk on the nature trail was another great way to get outside once it stopped raining. We then just chilled by the fire watching the sunset to cap of an amazing day.
There weren't any cons with this stay but rather recommendations and they're below:
The reservation staff should try to do better at communicating if your cabin assignment has changed. My partner and I pulled into the driveway of an already occupied cabin not knowing that ours had been changed (didn't receive a text message or email about this at all). Fortunately a customer support agent got back to us quickly and we had a cabin ready. They should install a mirror somewhere in the cabin. I know the idea is to disconnect but also disconnecting from a mirror?
Read moreWe had such a lovely stay at Getaway Beaver Creek. I love the tiny home and all the amenities they provide. It was a perfect long weekend away but not too far from home. I was initially worried about it being a campground and other people being nearby but they made a good effort in making every cabin feel remote and private, with the exception of a few cabins we could see by the walking trail, luckily we didn’t stay in those as the trail goes right behind them and you could see right in the big window. I really enjoyed the little 0.5 mile walking trail on site. It made it convenient to go hike without researching trails nearby or even leaving the grounds. The temperature was very comfy and cozy inside and the bed was nice also. Cute little kitchen with supplies provided and some items available for purchase like tea and coffee. The fire pit and picnic table area outside was very nice! We got to use it the second night as the first night of our stay got rained out. Firewood was bundled and dry, but did have some trouble getting the fire to keep going, as it seemed even though the wood was dry that it was from a green tree. As in the tree was chopped not that long ago, so we did eventually get it going and burning after drying the wood logs over the fire for a little. Everyone around seemed to respect the all hours are quite hours rule the first night. Second night I heard a rowdy couple I assume that were talking very loud and yelling, and also a constant dog barking. So personally I didn’t say anything or complain to management but I do think the quiet rule should be either enforced more or relayed more in the check in process so everyone is aware, as I only saw about it in the packet on our table inside, that I assume not everyone would read. We enjoyed our s’mores kit provided for free to us. I loved the experience and hope to return or try another campground location in the future. Only things I would change is to provide some tea and coffee for free or have included, as most Airbnb’s will provide guests with such things for free (you also have to pay for firewood too), and enforced quiet time a little more. It does seem like a little bit of a gamble, not knowing which cabin location you’ll end up with, but I really enjoyed our stay and location we got, and hope that if we return we get to stay in the private, wooded cove we got this time....
