The view and the decor and feel of the Mickey are excellent. I loved being in the cabin, but if you're thinking of staying here there may be some issues. Firstly, you can only book a cabin by calling. Every time I called someone would answer who would ask if they could help me, then when I explained what I needed they would immediately tell me I needed to speak to "Marion." Marion was NEVER available. She was always doing yardwork or at the store or somewhere else and didn't return my multiple calls. So it took about a week to even book the cabin. When I did book it, after finally reaching her, she told me that she would send us the information for the cabin. It never came. So I had to reexperience the joys of calling for Marion, but never actually reaching her, for another week. Turns out, they didn't even book our reservation the first time. We never found the office to check in, a cleaning lady had to let us in the VERY expensive cabin. Which was nice, but not worth nearly 300 a night. There are no amenities and although she said there was internet, there was not. I would have considered paying so much for the cabin, if we had even a little privacy!!! This is the worst: the owners family lives next door with their children and dogs. The children and the dogs, kept coming over. I paid $300 a night for the cabin to host a family dinner before my wedding and in the middle of the rehearsal dinner 2 kids and a couple dogs start walking through the house. I could NOT get them to leave. One dog, refusing to go home, stayed all night, shed a huge amount of hair everywhere and got into the garbage. The next day, while getting ready for my wedding, these kids show up again. I nicely ask them to leave, they never do. And, same day, i step out the shower to see some other stranger in the house, when I ask if I can help her she tells me she's just here to "check on things" and stays for another 20 minutes. Then, 40 minutes before I am about to walk down the aisle, with my mother fixing my hair and trying to enjoy my wedding day, the owners son in law shows up, walks in without knocking or announcing and then proceeds to rudely ask us when we're leaving and how long we've been there: EVEN THOUGH I RESERVED THE CABIN TWICE! Then, I rented a separate cabin nearby for a short stay before my honeymoon. The owner shows up at 10am with a bill in the middle of our stay. The bill is all wrong. Despite clarifying the dates 3 separate times, she has overcharged us. To her credit, it only took 10 minutes of arguing to get her to change it. I am very disappointed with our stay. The cabins are beautiful, but they are too expensive considering that they lack any privacy at all and the amount of hoops you have to jump through to reserve a cabin or even ask a question. I would love to stay here if they were more organized...
Read moreLoved, Loved, Loved this place!||Having spent a lot of time planning our North West road trip, we had looked at all sorts of properties on the internet, in the Glacier National Park area, including a lot of so called 'cabins' along the highway.||Thank goodness I found this place.||We stayed in the Brownstone Cabin, which is the smallest property on the homestead, but ample in size for the two of us.||It is located a couple of miles from the highway in a wooded area, well away from any traffic noise, but within a 15 minute drive from the park entrance.||The cabin had been left open with the key on the table for our arrival, and the owner Doyle dropped by shortly after to introduce himself and check everything was okay - a lovely touch.||The cabin itself has all the amenities you'd expect including a full kitchen and gas BBQ on the deck and a fire pit.||It also has THE most comfortable bed in the world!||Wi-Fi is also available if you need it.||I so wish we could have stayed longer than three nights, maybe next time.||Thank you Abbot Valley for a...
Read moreOur family group of 7 rented the Jaybird cabin for a week. It was just perfect for us and the whole experience was wonderful. The folks at Abbott Valley were so helpful in answering all of my questions before we even booked. When I explained that we'd be arriving after midnight, Doyle even offered to buy coffee and other breakfast supplies for our first morning. |The cabin is clean and charming. The beds were comfortable and many basics are provided, like hand soap, toilet paper and paper towels, salt and pepper, fully appointed kitchen, etc. We especially enjoyed having a washer/dryer and even detergent provided.|The best part of the AVH is the location. Although there were other cabins nearby, we never heard a peep out of other people in our week's stay. Doyle stopped in to check on us the morning after we arrived and before we left which was a very nice touch. We were surrounded by beautiful trees, flowers, meadows, and a small creek. We were visited by a doe and her fawn two mornings. |Thank you Doyle and AVH for a...
