Weāve stayed at a lot of vacation rentals through the years and this one rested in the average category. For a little bit of an investment the owner could turn it into a true five star but it needs some work. The kitchen was on the low end. A very cheap stove and very few kitchen essentials. We literally had four kitchen knifes to go with six forks. No Corning ware to prepare something in the microwave. Why not provide a basic spice rack? Again thatās what makes a five star place call a three star. ||The place was about a 7 out of 10 in the cleanliness category. ||There is no storage. When we rent a vacation rental for a week we want to unpack and not live out of a suitcase but that isnāt possible. There is no dresser in the downstairs bedroom and no room for one in that bedroom. However they could change out the two useless bed tables in there for bed tables that have drawers. They could also out a dresser around the corner in the family room behind where they have a huge overstuffed chair. Move the chair up a little and add a nice four drawer dresser behind it. Have more than a few hangers in the closet. ||Upstairs in the loft instead remove the useless chair there and put a dresser there as there isnāt even a closet up there. The hand rail on the stairs was very shakey. ||They should have a coffee storage table in front of the sofa that could contain some games and such for a rainy day. ||On many websites people talked about how small it is and it really is but Iāve stayed in smaller that really made good use id the space. There are so many clever things one can do to give storage in a small space. ||Put some hooks on the back of the bathroom drops to hang your bath towel. ||Add a step to the deck as it was a big step up from the ground which is hard in an older person. ||I recommend to the owner, that lives in another state, to watch Vacation House Rules in hgtv to get some ideas on how to get repeat business. Itās the little personal touches that were sadly lacking. ||On a positive I will say it is relatively close to the West Entrance of the park (10 minutes). Beds were comfortable. Use of a washer and dryer was nice. The heat in the bathroom was nice when temps dropped overnight. Communication with owner was good prior to the rental but if it was my rental Iād follow up with people afterward to ask how everything went ā¦maybe send them a little survey so I knew what was working and what...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe began our northwest trip in Cabin #3. Traveling with 5 adults, it was perfect for us. There is a master BR and full bath on the main floor and 2 full beds in the loft area. It was unseasonably hot during our stay and they even brought in a portable AC unit for the loft which was an unexpected, but much appreciated amenity. Our grown kids shared the loft area while mom and dad claimed the master.|The kitchen is well appointed with high quality cookware and utensils - much different from our usual rental experiences. Dining options are limited in the area, so this allowed us to prepare breakfasts and pack lunches to take into the park with us.|By far the best part of the unit was the front porch where we enjoyed coffee and quiet time each morning. The view into the forest is just simply serene while the sounds of birds welcome the morning.|For colder weather travel, there is heat and a gas stove (which we did not need). Also there is a quality stacked washer and dryer unit in the bathroom area.|Approaching the cabin does involve a dirt road, but any vehicle should be able to traverse this, except maybe in lots of snow. |You are staying in the woods, so I would emphasize the importance of not leaving food outdoors and be ābear awareā (though we did not see any). |If we ever return, and I hope we do, we would most...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs we drove through the area and saw all the tiny cabins piled on top of each other, I got a little nervous. Then a few miles past all the tourist traps was our cabin, tucked away privately in the woods. I was never so relieved in my life. I could literally go on and on about how amazing our stay was. The cabin was adorable. Not too big. Not too small. Very clean and modern, yet rustic. We loved the fireplace as well as the outdoor sitting area. It was very peaceful. The location was perfect because we were outside of town, but close to all the parks and activities at Glacier. Our host Emily knew about the local area, answered all our questions (even when we were probably annoyingš) and immediately responded to all of our requests. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. We will be...
