One of the loveliest parks I’ve ever visited!
From the moment we arrived, everything felt intentional and welcoming. The grounds were immaculate—fresh-cut grass, clean and open spaces, and plenty of recently refreshed areas that felt alive and well-loved.
There are so many bright, safe, and cheerful playgrounds for kids, and the walking trails are beautifully varied—different terrains, scenic views, and clearly marked with numbers and emergency markers. Whether you're walking, biking, or just strolling with your dog, there’s something for everyone (including intense biking trails if you're more daring than me!).
The dog park was adorable and thoughtfully maintained with plenty of cleaning stations and bags. And speaking of the vibe? So friendly. People actually greet each other on the trails! It gave a real sense of community.
We were blown away by the little free libraries scattered throughout the park—such a beautiful reflection of shared values and care. There’s also a monarch butterfly habitat, a peaceful garden area, gorgeous tennis courts, sand volleyball, and community stages and event spaces. Multiple gazebos added to the charm and gave us the perfect shady spots to rest and take it all in.
It only cost $1 to get in, but by the time we left, we truly felt like we should’ve paid more. A hidden gem that’s clearly...
Read moreA wholesome family park. The new SMILES area for kids is outstanding! We love to take our grandkids to Kiroli for Birthday party, walking trails, as well as grilling under a shelter or enjoying a picnic lunch at one of the picnic tables. Great park!!
Safe, welcoming outdoor spaces can be hard to find even in a small town setting. This is just such a space that is a focal point of community activities such as arts performances, horticulture activities, etc. Kiroli features walking paths/trails, picnic areas, dog park, playgrounds for persons of all abilities, small event space(s), lovely landscaping, a small lake, etc. There’s a welcoming feel — regular guests are walkers, families playing, people exercising their dogs, groups cooking out, etc. It’s in use all operating hours so guests aren’t ever really isolated which makes me feel safer. Yet, there is a feel of quiet and outdoor solitude in many spots on the walking paths. It is handicapped accessible tho some trails may be too difficult or too long for some. Definitely worth a visit!
Your dog needs to get a special tag and I think you have to pay a $10 fee per year to take your dog there. Lots of picnic areas/tables around the park. Great flower...
Read moreOf all the wonderful places in the twin cities, this is no longer the best! Not so Beautiful now with encroaching residential community building and clear-cutting on the edge of the main pond, no longer as peaceful due to the overpopulated crowds, still well kept. Multiple playgrounds for all ages including persons of special needs, however (smiles park) marked the end of a tranquil era for this once wonderful park. Fishing ponds, the botanical gardens now becoming a place for people to throw trash unseen, dog park, nature trails, multiple rental pavilions, an outdoor Amphitheater, tennis courts, a rental lodge, a centrally located sporting field. The entrance fee has risen to $1 per person no matter the age and removed the $3 per car fee. and the park is no longer fully gated for child safety. Been visiting this park for 17 years and have watched it slowly turn the way of ruin for notoriety and profit. Once peaceful beauty is now busier than the shopping mall. Heart...
