If you’re looking for Dispersed Camping, Beaver Creek Road is what you want to put in your GPS. It’s not that far from the Campground on the main highway. The road is on top of a slight hill so you might miss it, if you’re coming from West Yellowstone, it’s a right hand turn, it is approximately 5 miles of road before it loops around. Some camp sites are easy to see, but there are a couple more at the mile 4 marker that are more secluded from the road itself. In mid summer when the days were hot, this place is very cool in temp during the days and nights. The road is rough not rutted, very narrow in spots. Just take your time and it’s a climb that’s worth it. Plenty of hiking trails, also horse trails (watch for poo). This dispersed campground runs right along with Beaver Creek and it’s beautiful. No running water, NO trash, bring it in you pack it out. One pit toilet up by where they park the horse trailers. All in all, i would definitely stay here again

Epic Sunset last night in the Gallatin National Forest in Montana. Oftentimes the journey is better than the destination and that may prove true in this case. We found a jewel of a campsite outside of West Yellowstone in the Beaver Creek Campground perched on a wildflower filled hill overlooking the forest above Earthquake Lake. So if you are leaving Yellowstone heading to Glacier, this is a perfect stopover. Worth a couple of days and more if you love fly fishing. B13 and B14 have the epic 360° views. Note: no hookups, no Cell, no wifi. Unplug and "social distance" !

Really nice primitive campground. My only complaint was there were many sites available but they had reserved signs on them for days in the future. They could have marked them available for 2 days and made extra money but it seems that the camp host didn't bother about that. The A loop is closest to earthquake lake. Right outside the campground entrance there is a meadow and lake where the moose family was photographed.

After spending the day driving between Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, we were anxious to arrive, set up camp and crack a beer. Unfortunately, our plans of an early arrival were delayed significantly due to animals near and or/on the road leaving on the park. Oh well - if you’re going to be stuck in slow traffic, Yellowstone is the place to do it!

From West Yellowstone, the campground is about a half hour drive along the beautiful Hebgen Lake. The camp hosts were very kind and accommodating. They gave us a few tips about tenting in bear country, and advised us to look out for a few moose who inhabit the grounds.

Our site (C22) was surprisingly quiet and secluded despite being in the middle of the loop. While we didn’t have our own bear locker, there was one nearby which appeared to be communal. Our site was large, with lots of options for tent placement, and a nice picnic table. Don’t forget to pack...

Nice quiet campground located above Earthquake Lake. The A and C loop have path to lake with some steep parts. B loop is higher up and has more Sun/less shade. Some sites can be hard to get you 26' trailer in. Other sites better suited to tents or short trailer. Refer to the recreation.gov site for site details and availability. There are bear proof containers near some sites for storage of some items. 2 different Camp hosts who are informative and courteous. Pit toliets and garbage done daily. Signs are posted for when there is bear activity in the area. Did see Fox run through next campsite, had 3 point mule eating grass outside RV trailer. 20 miles southeast to West Yellowstone. 22 or so miles to island park. Did get late evening showers several times, since our stay was late July. Look forward to...
