What a fantastic place to visit! We ate there two days in a row, even though it was out of our way. We stayed at Terra Nova Cabins, just down the road, and Sue recommended this place... And I'm SO glad she did! BTW, if you can, stay at the Terra Nova Cabins too! They are fantastic. The food is amazing, the service is top notch as well! It is just as cozy and welcoming as the name suggests. You feel like you're walking, safely, back in time. There's a beautiful small river that chitters and chatters whilst you eat. The gift shop/tackle shop/kitchen is in a park like setting- just like you'd have in some dream. Bob from mdoesto, a fly fishing master in the tackle shop, was joy to chat with, Todd Gabriel from TX and GA was very attentive and knowledgeable, the chef on the griddle was a grilling and cooking machine, but totally engaging, kind, and fun to chat with! The whole staff seemed like a well oiled machine! I recommend you make reservations, because this place fills up fast, which is a testament to the TEXAS sized proportions, that not only hang off the plate, but are as good as ANY breakfast food I've had anywhere. (I didn't, but I'm devastatingly handsome)! Even if you're full after your breakfast, and you WILL be, be sure to order a gargantuan cinnamon roll, they're phenomenal! They pour clarified butter over them just before serving them, which may sound strange to you, but I'll never eat cinnamon rolls any other way! DELISH! If you don't love the food, the atmosphere, and the staff, I'll give your money back! Tell them Skinny James sent you! (I cannot remember the names of the lovely lady that worked the cash register, and our other server we had the second day, super sorry, but they treated us just like family, only better, because my family isnt always so nice)! TOP NOTCH, top to bottom!

Stayed at Campfire Lodge Resort... the rental cabin was clean and rustic, food in the cafe was awesome and the owners were very friendly. Prices for the cabins and RV sites are much less than anything right in West Yellowstone. Very peaceful location nestled in the Gallatin National Forest, surrounded by mountains and right on the Madison River. It was about a 25 minute drive to the west entrance into Yellowstone National Park. Will definitely stay there again. I just was back again, September 2017. Campfire Lodge has upgraded a lot of different things - septic system, water, buried electric lines, new gravel roads and new fire pits outs the cabins. Plus, a gorgeous new cabin right on the Madison River. Cafe still is serving great food and everyone was very friendly. I will definitely be back again.

I love visiting this place when we come to Montana. We don't stay at the lodge, and we're not fisherpeople, but the breakfast, views, and people are worth the visit. It has a great spot on the Madison River and I think every table in the place has a good view. There is also seating outside, weather permitting. Breakfast is no-nonsense fare, comprised mostly of variations of eggs, bacon, potatoes, and bacon. Simple but always well done. Today I opted for an omelette with "the works" and my companion had the special (blueberry pancake, one egg, 3 bacons). We were both pleased and left full and happy. Our waitress also called me "dear" or "hon" in every interaction we had, which I find lovely and endearing. You should go to there.

My husband and I went to campfire lodge West Yellowstone for our honeymoon in 2019 and stayed in cabin #4 it was the most charming adorable peaceful place to stay ! The cabin was emaquelant and well taken care of so much so that it was even well furnished and put together nicely. Upon arriving I immediately knew there would be no worry of going without anything, the cafe had quite a line in front with everyone waiting for a table , we were very thankful we had reservations cause we got right in and the food was so amazing and humungous portions which led to the understanding of why people had to wait for a table ! The customer service was magnificient ! We were there for 6 days and 5 nights ! Jim and Wendy Slattery of campfire lodge were the most family oriented people you could ever meet ! So once again we have experienced the most amazing vacation ever. This time we took my mother on this lovely vacation and even though we were in a rv camp site it was nothing short of amazing on the Madison river and the staff in the restaurant was less than half the staff from previous years but still received top notch service, charming personalities, clean dining and very delicious portions that were gigantic, the best breakfast this side of the Mississippi as my husband words it ! And as for the lady complaining about the tip question , you must not eat out very much because you would know that alot of places ask so they know how to divide up the tips so that the cook, servers, and waitresses get there well deserved tips they work so hard for ! Alot of restaurants automatically add the tip on without your own consent ! So please be kind and considerate knowing that everyone is doing their best in every circumstance! And we can't wait until we can go back to this magnificent place and enjoy this piece of heaven! Thank you campfire lodge for the opportunity to make some more...

Thank you Campfire lodge for an incredible experience. As a family we have not been out to a restaurant since February due to COVID-19. We stopped by this campfire lodge cafe this morning as we were traveling through and saw a sign for coffee. Our plan was to order food/coffee to go, however, we were greeted by an incredibly nice women and we immediately saw the efforts they were taking to protect their guests and themselves. From masks being required in the building except at your dining table, to taking a log/contact information and temperatures when we walked in for tracing capabilities, to disposable condiments, and protective screens...this place really went above and beyond to take the virus seriously and make us feel safe.

Now to talk about the food and service...again, we can’t say enough good things!! Everyone was incredibly friendly. Our server, Sarah, was so kind, helpful, and prompt. The food was amazing, the best breakfast we have had in a long time. FYI - the pancakes are huge (and very delicious)!!! We had an incredible view of the river as we ate breakfast by the window. The coffee and hot chocolate was so delicious too! Our kids were very welcomed and had a great meal as well!

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would absolutely recommend anyone in the area to stop by for a visit! Or even if it’s out of your way, it’s worth it! Thank you again, Camping Lodge Cafe, for such a...
