Not being able to find a place near Yellowstone we thought this CG would be better then nothing. I was very, very wrong. Even though they lied to us about staying three nights the first couple that checked us in were very nice and helpful. It quickly went downhill from there. The minuscule lot they put a 40' 5th wheel in was a bad joke. 4' of grass next to us with the neighbors utilities and our picnic table there. Tired from a long day went to bed early but was kept awake by the neighbors party UNDER, not just next to the bedroom slide out. To get the third night we had to move to another site and were promised three times that someone would be there FIRST THING in the morning to guide us to the other "Super" site. Walking the dog the next morning saw the people in the new site were leaving. Waited an hour and no one from the office showed. Not wanting to waste our limited time in Yellowstone went ahead and moved the 5er myself. Just as I am getting it level the guy that was supposed to help me move it comes sliding to a stop on his four wheeler, jumps off and with a real attitude tells me I was supposed to wait for him. He does not like the way I have it lined up and has me go back and forth a few times and tells me now the slide outs will fit (duh) and then roars off on the four wheeler. The hitch of the 5er is sitting at the edge of the drive and the pickup is all the way across the drive sitting down hill on an angle from the site. After unhooking I have 3' to maneuver between the 5er and the truck across the drive. After much going forward and backward am able to get the truck off the drive, but now there is no where to park it since he put the end of the 5er at the edge of the drive. Went on about our day and when we got back pulled the truck around the end of the 5er thinking that maybe it would fit in the gravel side lot. It did not. Ran over the end of a 4 x 4 holding the gravel back and broke off about 6 inches of one corner. Having the call of nature went in to handle that and the next thing I know hear BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM on the door. Open it up and the man standing there goes into a tirade with quite an attitude. He is the owner and why didn't I park in back and blaw, blaw, blaw. The owner is talking to a paying customer this way? OK, enough is enough. I got in his face and let him and the rest of the park know what I thought of his lying employees, thridiculouslyly small site he had me in at first, the mover that did not show up and when he did leaving me with 3' of space to get my truck out with and I hated his F ing park. Apparently no one had ever talked to him like this before, ha asked me to move my truck to the back of the site and I told him never mind I am leaving and went inside to start packing. Before I could get hooked up he came back and started in again first on me and then yelling at my girlfriend, something about how I talked to him. I told him to not talk to her that way, shut up and let me leave. Well hooking up was absurd!! Luckily the truck across the drive was not there and I had room to get lined up, however my pickup was angled downhill and to the right of the 5er. The owner did not offer to help get it hooked up but sit on his 4 wheeler glaring at me and yelling NO NO NO not that way. After mumaneuveringing I finally managed to get it hooked up, I thought. Pulled forward to check the connection and the 5er fell off the hitch onto the tailgate bending it in a big V. Managed to get it hooked up for real the next time and the OWNER escorted us off his property. If you have a fifth wheeler stay away from this place, I am speculating that it started out as a fishing camp ground for the nearby lake and was designed for much smaller RVs.

Please note that they delete negativeavtive comments on guest books page on their web site as they have mine. Am filing with the Idaho AG's office on their bait and switch tactics and also...

The one star is for the blonde lady who checked us in and the gentleman who showed us to our site. They were the only positive experience on the day we arrived. Reserving was not as fast and clicking online to reserve without speaking with someone however that worked best for our group to accommodate us being next to each other. We received a courtesy call before arrival. Check in was good but after getting parked it became a nightmare for us. We had a total of 10 people, all with dirt bikes and 4 wheelers. Our friends had to park their double decker trailer out in a separate area because it would not fit in the space, which was fine, but they had to move the bikes from the trailer to the site and drove them back and forth to get items being unloaded from the trailer. We weren’t even settled in when the first complaint came in. So they stopped using the bikes and walked. Upon leaving on our first ride we showed a new user how to drive one of the quads. We gathered up and left and drove to the lake. When we came back we were headed down the road to the trails however a couple of the kids got confused and went back to camp. They went in and came back out realizing we were not there and met up with us. After a few hours we came back and around dinner time a man from the office came to speak with us. His demeanor and tone was completely uncalled for. He explained there were 7 complaints of us riding around camp and being loud. This is all during the DAY TIME. He explained they are atv friendly but ours were too loud and said we were not complying to the rules. When I tried to defend ourselves and explain a few of our kids got confused, he cut me off and said we needed “to get our kids in line” and smacked his hands together. When I again tried to explain he cut me off and said in a demeaning tone “or I’ll be happy to refund your money right now” for us to leave. We were also approached by others saying they heard him lay in to us and another person told me he was making comments in the office to other customers and/or staff. We were also told he was so mad he threatened to call the sheriff on us for being disturbing and riding too fast. When we were on the main road yes we had to speed up. He also made a comment about kids riding bikes and the laws surrounding them making assumptions about our group. In the end we packed up the next day taking him up on the offer for a refund and found an amazing place by all the trails we wanted and dry camped for free we also had a beautiful running stream next to us. We felt a weight lifted off us after leaving. We felt like it was so quiet there we had to whisper. We were treated like nuisance hoodlums. When we left our friends respectfully pushed their quads to the trailer. They say atv friendly but be aware it’s more like quiet atv friendly. I would have been more open to compromising and finding a solution than being treated like raging partiers breaking all the rules. It was definitely not a good fit for us and we would have been more appreciative if we were spoken to as such we would have left on better terms. So the -4 points is how we’ were treated by the manager or whomever he was.

Background: My family was spread between two spots as we had a pop up and a fifthwheel we had four kids (12, 10, 5, and 5 months) and three adults. We stayed four nights Th-Sun pulled out Monday am.

Serene and tranquil.

6 miles off the highway, you don't have much road traffic or noise. There is South Shore access to Henry lake less than 1 mile down a dirt road that boarders the north side of the park, it feels like a private lake as we were the only ones there every time we went (which was a lot). The downside to all this beautiful seclusion (for the young modern crowd) is the limited to no cell service and the spotty Wi-Fi, they ask you not stream but I wasn't even able to load pictures daily. I loved it cause nobody could be nose in the phone. We played cards and board games.

Julie was courteous at check in and even knew ALL guests names when she was out and about in the park!! Awesome hospitality on her part she was just fabulous! Of course like every please there are those staff who are unpleasant, mostly the old guy with glasses and a grey mustache.

Showers and bathrooms were always clean and we never waited in line.

So we read the reviews of limited space and were extremely concerned about having enough room for kids. However, the park is genius in how the designed the lay out. They park RVs and campers back to back, so utilities are on the back side of both campers and out of the way. Yes when slides go out you could probably touch your neighbors slide but you are left with a massive "front yard." Most spaces have mature trees and tons of shade. We loved both locations.

Also upon reading the reviews we worried about a long list of rules, however, if you are an avid camper, as my family is, the rules list is very short compared to some places we have stayed and are all VERY reasonable.

The only "issue" we had was the pop up sat right next to the playground, which at first we were super stoked about cause I could laze around with the baby while observing the children from bed. Camp rules state that quiet time is to start at 10 pm. And some people are ok with letting their kids be outside without supervision after 9, I personally do not, and this caused a problem because we heard everything! My Kids' bedtime, even during the summer because I believe in routines and structure, is 8:30 p.m. and there were literally kids at the park screaming and squealing until 10:01. My offer of solution of compromise would be to maybe "close" the playground at 9 p.m. children could still play and carry on but at their own campsite until 10?

Overall we loved it....

This place is an amazing campground. I definitely got the best spot in the park. #9 is in the back left corner. Little to no traffic (except a dirt road adjacent to the park that leads to the lake), but definitely the best views. As of this review June 2022, they are adding additional sites... More like doubling their size. Could be some noise during the day but I didn't notice it on the opposite side of the park. Beautiful views of the mountains. Beautiful views of the sky. Meaning if you have Starlink, you can use it here no problem. They have laundry, showers, a pickleball court, and a children's playground. Their trash receptacle is located near the pickleball court. The main office has a small gift shop, alongside some staple items for camping, but ensure you do your shopping prior to arriving. It's a drive into town if you forget anything. It's about a 30min drive from West Yellowstone gate. If you go to Yellowstone from here you'll want to wake up early and head no later than 8am, otherwise backup on traffic entering the park happens. One day it took nearly 2 hours to get to the grand loop turn from traffic. The staff are amazing and helpful, with great customer service! Check your route before coming as Google maps led me down a dirt road as it was indeed closer, in distance, but doesn't save time just hardship while towing. Cell signal isn't great, it works for calls (Google Fi) but data is limited even with a cell booster. In camp wifi is very slow as well. Don't expect much other than checking emails or possibly route navigation. I'd suggest downloading the Google maps of the areas you plan on visiting. Enjoy your stay! It's okay. The help is too extra. We reserved well in advance. The day of our first night we were contacted and told we were not allowed to arrive after 1800. Given we were travelling from four hours away. We were told to dry camp along the road for the night, but not to enter the RV park prior to 0830 the following day. Dry camp off the road in an area we've never been too before and arriving at dark, sounds like a great idea. Upon finally arriving, the fella flagged us into the staging area (standing literally in front of the truck). During registration, one lady was on the phone, while the other was doing something on the computer so I just stood there and waited. Once the phone call was over, it was assumed I was with another older lady just standing in the office 🙄. After finally getting all the paperwork done, the parking lane guy piloted us to our site. He wouldn't leave us until he was satisfied where we had parked our rig. Later in the stay, we were told not to park our truck on the grass, let's be clear "grass" is weeds of various forms, I understand not wanting to kill the grass, but upon looking around, nearly everyone else has UTV's, RV's, car's, truck's all parked on the grass. Oh, let's not forget I was told not to put my rug on the grass (weeds), it was not on the weeds. The "Mom and Pop" campground is just that. Overall the site was nice and large, the electricity worked great, water pressure was good, laundry facilities and restrooms were clean. Oh, they recently added a kids playground to the park, however, some brilliant person had the idea to add a water hookup smack in the middle of the playground, I'll let you use your imagination on how well that plays out with a bunch of kids 🤔.
