My husband and I have stayed at many campgrounds over the years and by far, our favorite is Benner’s Meadow Run Campground. It’s within 10 minutes of Ohiopyle and 1 hr drive from our house in Washington, PA. We’ve been coming here for years and got a permanent site this year. The renovations the new owners have done to the campground are incredible! You can tell they fell in love with the place, saw its potential, and are making it a reality. Every time we come they’ve added something new to enhance the camping experience, plus providing fun activities, events, entertainment, and sometimes food trucks on the weekends. My favorite addition is the work they’ve done to the pool area. They also have fishing ponds with ducks you can feed, a playground, mini golf, arcade, dog park, basketball, and much more. As most people have mentioned in their reviews the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There are cabins and yurts you can rent as well as tent and camper sites. They honestly have something for everyone, even if you’ve never gone camping before. Everything is Super clean, especially the new bathhouse they built. All of this, set against a gorgeous wooded background in the stunning Laurel Highlands. We love how close the campground is to Ohiopyle, we think they have the best hiking and biking trails around. We even prefer a lot of their restaurants to our choices at home. Ohiopyle was voted #1 Small Town in the Northeast by USA TODAY’S Readers Choice Awards and we would totally agree! We’ve brought most of our family and friends of all ages to the campground over the years, everyone has been so impressed and can’t wait to come back! I could go on and on about how much we love it here but you should check it out for yourself. We can’t recommend Benner’s Meadow Run Campground enough to anyone and everyone!

We booked our stay for the first week of April, so it was chilly and off season - totally fine. We wanted the quiet experience and love tent camping in off season. We did chooses a terrible time because of the storms and ended up leaving a day into our stay. Our campsite was quick sand, but that isn’t the facilities fault, just our luck. We were expecting the shower houses to be open, but they weren’t. We couldn’t wash dishes, warm up or use the restrooms. They were probably still winterized, so again, our bad luck - but we wished there was a warning of some kind for off season campers. There have been at other places. However, the porta-john’s were in terrible condition. Absolutely disgusting. We had dogs and a toddler, so we were excited about the dog park and the play ground. The dog park is in renovation, so not a big deal, but the playground was really sad with dirty toys. The star gazing pad was also something we were excited about, but that looks unsafe and unstable. The blocks holding it up look like they’re about to topple over. It shakes when you walk on it. I included a picture of the pad with my excited kiddo. Over all, we left because our camp site turned into mud because of the storms and couldn’t wash up (luck), the only other bathrooms were foul and we couldn’t reach anyone in the office. We called before closing time and left a message and never heard anything back. It might just be the time of year, but the park didn’t look taken care of.

This is a large beautiful campground with camping options ranging from cabins, yurts, tent sites, and rv spots with full hookups. It does use well water which has a faint oder, but you are in the middle of the mountains so this wasn't a surprise. The dog park is a nice big open area with a pond close by that has a couple ducks and occasional geese visits (you can see it in one of the photos i posted from the dog park). Lots of places for leash walking your dog too! The rv spots are good size with gravel lots, nice solid wood picnic tables and fire rings. Although we were here in the winter and didn't get to enjoy them, there is a nice playground, gameroom, pool, and mini golf. Good price laundry machines on site. Our wifi worked great, but we were close to the office, so this could vary throughout the park. Plus, it is in a great location to enjoy all of the historical and nature areas these mountains offer. Lastly, the staff was very helpful and friendly. My only reason for 4 stars is the price. It is corporate run, and I think corporate run places are usually more expensive. In my opinion, they should charge about 100 less for monthly rates especially in the winter since most of the amenities cannot be used at this time of year.

We recently stayed at Benners Meadow Run campground. I'm going to give you the most honest review there is good and there's bad. First the good, What a great couple Patrick and Tammy are! I can't Say enough about these 2! We have electric bikes and we wanted to take a ride on them. What the campground should say instead of children, should not be riding bikes at night, Is be careful when riding bikes, the stones are thick and can make it very difficult riding and can twist your front tire. Causing an accident which is exactly what happened. My front wheel caught the stones and I went down and it was a downhill as well. It took my breath away. It knocked a couple teeth loose. I went down on both knees to which we think the left maybe broken in someway, knocked off my glasses and they are broken. As I lay there on my chest I found myself unable to move. Naturally I was crying out and my husband came running and another camper, I would love to put their names here because he and his wife were just wonderful. But i'm not sure they would want their names publicized so I won't. Tammy and Patrick were just coming back into the campground when they saw me. Immediately they brought the golf cart down and everyone got me onto the golf cart. When back at our spot #7 (And I mentionin that for a reason) Patrick took my husband in the cart to retrieve his bike while Mrs.Carry walked mine up. Tammy stayed with me and got ice and water for me. I was laid up 2 days and Tammy gave me Pat's cane! My kind of people! The kind you want to rely on. Pat later came over to check up on us. Thats customer service. Losing them 💔 Will certainly be a detriment to this campground. Now for the bad. During Our check in I dealt with Brittney. It seems that they were only using two sites that entire week. We were given sight number 5. We were unable to get in because of a building and we have a forty foot rig. I went to the office and asked if we could move to 7. Reluctantly, we were given sight number 7 and I was told that she would be leaving in a 1/2 hr. That then I needed to bring back the spot card that she told me had to be in my truck before she left or security will ask us to leave, so we were under the gun. Within minutes my husband got it there. Then we observed the people in 5 being asked to move, super Very nice and were waiting for a baby to be born. That's why they were there being told to move their camper. So someone else can come into their spot for the night. These folks had to pack everything up that they had there for a week. And if you camp you know how difficult that can be and move to a spot on the other side of the campground, so that someone else who requested that spot could go into It for about six hours and they were gone before we even woke up. HOW RUDE And inconsiderate. So now there's 2 back-to-back. Campers ours and theirs and about 18 spots that were wide open right next to us. One phone call could have kept everyone from being inconvenience. I will say this a few days later. I went in and spoke with Brittney. Brittney makes you feel as though you're imposing on her with a great big smile. Customer service is not her strong point. Now to end on a great note, To the woman who cleans the restrooms. What a fabulous job she does! She is quiet gets in gets out and scrubs away everything is spic and span. The restrooms were a wonderful surprise. We never caught her name. This is an honest review , Are deepest gratitude goes to Patrick and Tammy. Two of the kindest people and the two people You want watching over you when you're in a strange place. Good luck to you guys! FYI It is hard to get directions when heading north but never ever ever ever ever Take 40 North or East, whatever it is, it is a dangerous mountain and it is posted its such. It's called the...

We rented the Fishing Lodge for 4 days. Check in starts at 3pm. (We arrived at 4pm roughly) Yet my first "day" rental was $350. (4/19) Uh? (9 hours/24 possible) Consequent days were $250 each (4/20 to 4/22) Speaking of which: Check out is 11am. If you're not out, they extra charge you $25. So 350 first possible 9 hours, 250 for 24 hours, 250 for another 24 hours, 250 for another 11 hours. 1.75/5 price If nothing else was amiss I'd revise my stars, but considering another factor which I'll get to at the end, this stands for now regarding price.

Couch/chair: soft leather, very nice. One small hole from before we arrived for our visit, small patch should fix. 4.7/5 couch.

Kitchen: appliances were modern, very nice. Some doors were missing, but it wasn't a problem. Kitchen had everything except a can opener. So 4.8 out of 5, kitchen.

Jacuzzi: pre-heated, little chlorine, very nice. 4.8/5 because the "@Ease" ball needed recharged. No biggie

Water/bathrooms. 4.7/5. Clean, soft, the bathroom shower heads had "power" to them. 1ply bathroom tissue?? really?? I wouldn't blow my nose with this stuff. Guys, you're charging 250 - 350 per "whole day". You can afford 2+ ply/better bathroom tissue. In our opinion.

Campfire: our wood was delivered that we ordered, but we never got to use it because of other circumstances/periodic rain. The nearby trees were wrapped with LED lights, which was nice. Assuming 5/5 campfire.

Rooms: clean, master bed was "made," closets had extra clothes hangers in them. Master bedroom had zero personality other than "wood" theme. Every other room had pictures/"stuffed" fish. Not docking points for style, but maybe a painting? Something?

Bed(s): full stop fail. There are people in the world that love to sleep on the ground/stone slabs. I know there are. But the beds were like afterthoughts to an otherwise very nice fishing cabin. I like a firmer bed than my wife, but not like this. I was a Boy Scout. Explorer. Cub Scout. Weeblo. I've camped most of my life. I've slept on bare ground before (softened with pine needles and overlaid with a tarp). Had I any inclination that the beds would be like rock/springboards I'd have brought my own sleeping gear. As it was, I was spending 250 - 350 a night, I expected something... softish?? There was no boxsprings underneath, and the "mattresses" were... firm is the best description. After the first night, my wife and I took the cushions off the couch, covered them with blankets we brought from home and tried those. They were an improvement but made for restless sleep. My wife and I were both very sore and exhausted. Woke frequently trying to feel better/rest. I am being very charitable giving 2/5 sleeping...

So if you see the video this was behind my camp site this was installed a few weeks before We we emailed about non renewal. This has been gone on for 2 years, but this year I called up the office 2 times about it running in the creek behind our camp site. Since I fish and many people on the mountain still have well water. I never turned them in but I did complain a few times to management. Anyone who knows me or my wife knows we are good people and for 17 years no issues then . Last 2 years Major Drama if you call about anything. I've built decks at benners fixed water leaks helped management with multiple issues. It was my Family and the crushed it over not doing the right thing. And the (Owner)wouldnt even sit down and say what we did.Or talk to us like humans... All over doing the right thing. And making a call to the office when people walk in the campground since it's not fenced and stay the night shower hurt wildlife and slap on wrist. And we got yelled at for calling the office. I'm Sorry this happened to us And the Other campers who got non renewal for calling about issues. Just not Benners anymore ... As of the new Season. We were told we cannot renew for 2026 After 17 plus years Camping at Benners 11 years Seasonal site 408. (Due to Pattern of Behavior). Well I run a Business in Fayette and Westmoreland county. Work for a lot of local Churches, Businesses. And never been mean. to Anyone. Only thing I ever did was tell management about the (Raw Sewage) running down the stream behind our site. Or Internet being down . Nothing else and we were not the only people who complained. And the owner wouldn't even sit down and talk to us. Everyone who knows me and my wife knows we r good people. And for the New Owner of Benners to not sit down and talk to us is Just Crazy. Ice built decks. Fixed water leaks you name it I been Family to this Campground. But over telling management about a sewer issue then not getting a renewal after all these years. And never an Email or anything about behavior or anything. If this happened to you at Benners please Respond.....

Well had to update my post here. 7 years ago this place was a great family place. Now power issues no internet. Water issues constantly. AND if you call and say anything. Management hangs up or has an attitude towards you. Like we are complaining for nothing. We pay to have all the Amenities.

Been coming here since I was a young kid. Great family campground....
