Walls, carpet, bathroom are all clean and nice looking. Shower: Nice hot water, high-pressure-tiny-streams type shower head (took me 5 min to figure out how to redirect the water to the showerhead). They do have the older tube tv but the remote works fine and it has the basic selection of channels .. that tend to play the same movies & tv shows over and over again, along with the same old and newer commercials. There's a microwave & small fridge if you need them. No coffee pot and no breakfast included but for a $49 room I don't feel cheated. Internet connection was weak at first but then seemed to work ok. This is a small motel. All the rooms are non smoking. There is free coffee in the office in the morning, made by the friendly, respectable small-town folk that run this motel. It's along a quieter state highway. No interstates or big-city nearby. I'd stay here again if I was coming thru this area again. No problems. I stayed 1 night in...
Read moreIn the middle of Missouri is the most wonderful little motel, The Wheatland Motel, Wheatland, Missouri. I wondered what we would find when we made the reservation. I was totally surprised we drove up. Clean on the outside, clean in the office! No one was in the office but someone was working in one of the rooms. She came to help us. She said our room wasn't quite ready (we knew we had arrived early) but she said she would leave the room she was working in and get it ready for us. We told her we were in no hurry but she said she would go ahead and do it then. When we opened the door to the room, I said to my husband, it looks like I can sit on the bedspread without worry. (I found out later that the sheets AND spread are washed after every guest! WOW!!!!!) When we needed ice we went back to the office where we were greeted by a wonderful man - found out later he was the owner. EVERYTHING WAS WONDERFUL!! Thank you Wheatland Motel - We will never worry about a place to stay when we're in the area. We would stay with you any time rather than drive to Bolivar to a national motel!!! ...
