Whitebird Summit Lodge & Ranch — Hotel in White Bird

Brought a group of friends and family to Whitebird, as part of a tour through parts of Washington and Idaho, planning to use the site as base for a jet boat tour. The jet boat tour was exciting and fun, but the Lodge, and Terri and Frank, turned out to be another highlight of the stopover. VERY interesting folks, and dedicated to their guests - or at least the ones who enjoy genuine people living a genuine life. Terri and Frank were extremely accommodating of our early departure for the river tour, and later prepared an absolutely outstanding dinner, which led to an extended evening of conversation with two very interesting people. The Lodge itself is comfortable, with something 'interesting' around every corner. Some were Terri's crafts, some were Frank's crafts, yes there are mounted animals in the great room, but these are well done and each carries a story. If that bothers you, stay somewhere else. A wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities are available, as well as the simple beauty of the mountaintop setting. Our group included East Coast citydwellers, urban Idahoans, and a resident of Washington's North Cascades, every person found the stay pleasant, and each of us recommends Whitebird with enthusiasm. The Whitebird located atop the Whitebird Pass is a wonderful destination for those who want genuine and sincere hosts that welcome you into their home. We are avid motorcycle riders that often find our hosts do not like having bikes on property. The Whitebird welcomed us with open arms. There is a short gravel driveway leading to the lodge, no problem as it is well maintained and level at the top allowing for easy parking for tour bikes. ||||Our room was clean and comfortable, we slept with the patio door open enjoying the evening coolness to provide for a great nights sleep. Our hostess, Terri, was friendly, and made an awesome breakfast, even accommodating our earlier than normal schedule. ||||Don't forget to enjoy Dexter the house lab, he is friendly and gentle, as dog people we loved being able to spoil Dex with a little love during our stay. ||||We highly recomend the Whitebird if you are in the area on a motorcycle, there are a lot of fantastic curvey roads very close to enjoy while...

We had our family reunion at Whitebird Summit Lodge. It was a once in a lifetime experience for our family.

We were a family of 15 ranging in age from 3 to 73. There was something for everybody.

The kids were excited by the chickens, goats and other farm critters. Plenty of space for all gathering together, smaller group conversations and alone time too.

The host were gracious without the hovering you sometimes get at bed and breakfasts. Terri was a marvelous cook and made to fabulous breakfast and a first class dinner one night. She also enjoyed the little kids and they felt like she was a part of the family. Her husband had some good stories and shared his local knowledge with us. He entertained the kids with the cutest little goat

While there we took a jet boat trip with Mountain river outfitters and Terri help us with the coordinations.

I highly recommend Whitebird Summit lodge.
