Upon checking in at Goldston’s motel we didn’t get the room that was pictured from the website, instead we got a small, outdated, horrible room. It look like it was straight out of the 60s and has never been remodeled it smelled like an old folks home and the TV did not even work we could get it to turn on but no sound and you could not change the channel not to mention the TV was smaller than my computer monitor also there is only one air condition in the living room which if you’re going to have to sleep in the bed where the bedrooms are u will be very hot! Also something bite up my small child and when I told the staff in the morning they seemed to be very nice. They gave us some bug bite cream and another room. I told her I would bring back the keys to the previous room and she told me to keep it that it was not a problem we could use both rooms but obviously we wouldn’t sleep in the one that seemed to have bed bugs. It was my birthday and we stay about 30-45 minutes from Goldston’s beach so my brother came to celebrate my birthday. My mother went to ask for a parking pass for my brother seeing how u only get one per room and signs say u will be towed. When my mother went to ask her for the past they were very rude and said that we were trying to take it vantage of them because we asked for a parking pass I went to the office myself and said if I need to pay for my brother to park I would. They continue to tell me that we were scamming them because my brother came to visit me for my birthday I’m not sure if they thought maybe he was going to stay in the room but as I told her he was only coming to visit with his daughter for the day and they would not be staying the night. About that time the police came in that she had called I guess because she felt like we was scamming her. Which I don’t understand how she is the one who offered the other room and I trued to give her the key and she said keep it and use both. So how is someone trying to scam you if they’re only doing what you told him to do. As the police came in she asked me and my family to leave and told me that my card had not been charged. I assumed that they charged my card when I checked in seeing how they had it on file from the reservation. Needless to say these people were very rude and didn’t seem mixed family friendly if u know what I mean. Seeing how my birthday is on memorial day weekend and I knew everything would be booked except for where we were staying because they were definitely not book and I could see why. I told her we were going to stay and she charge my card, even though she tried to make it look like we where not going to pay. We will will never return and will tell anyone thinking of staying there to find another hotel and just drive to the beach. The beach there is very nice expect for the man that drowned there that day. Save yourself a trip this place is horrible, outdated, old rude and not mixed family friendly. But me and my husband and 4 kids still manage to have a good time no thanks to the employees which I also think are the owner....

Our visit to the lake today was a eventful one.Me & my kids Aunt & cousins 5kids total. Went to enjoy the water. The guy walking around telling me ,we couldn't have our childrens food & drinks in our cooler was a major inconveniences. But we made the best out of that situation. And I notice all the signs when he pointed them out.The one that really caught my eye was No Life Gaurd go at your own risk.So we went had our lunch then back to the water. My son got tired so me & him went back under the tree for shade.Thats when I notice a Man dragging a toddler from the water& heard the mother's horrific screams!!! i yell for my Aunt to get our kids out the water. I rush to the toddler.i jump in to perform CPR on the baby who look to be dead.Another man came over & help me with CPR.Finally after few compression me blowing air into his lung the baby puked in my mouth water poured out.And he let out a few whimpers then crying.i put my ear to his fragile tiny back to be sure air was flowing in him. My point is in the future you should have Life guards when dealing with public swimming.Thank God I went to white lake today because no one was really doing anything to save that baby it's why I jumped in..accept the one man who help me with the chest compression .I will never forget this day at white lake. You have staff walking around banding children's lunches & drinks in coolers. And No staff watching for the safety of children drowning to the point of death.Yes he survived today but he could end up with brain damage or infections in the lungs from how much water he swallow. This is very traumatic & thank God I went to white lake because I saved a Mothèr s baby when no one else could.Ill never forget today and all my prayers go to the Mother & fast recovery for her precious son. Please make a change & hire a life guard because what if no one knows what to do next time?God blessed me today & heard my prayers & as a Mother I knew what to do but not all Moms know CPR. Also why are your fish belly up dead in the water...

I hadn't been to goldston's beach in White lake and quite a few years. This place is a blast from the past. Unfortunately, the days when they had quite a few carnival rides and things are passed. However, they do still have a very nice arcade, a beautiful waterfront area, nice little shops and diners to eat at, and an overall nice family friendly place. It is very refreshing to find a little place like this. Still maintaining a family friendly atmosphere. You won't find a lot of people here drinking and acting up. This is a family friendly destination. Come down, spend the day. Play in the water! Check out the nice arcade with a wide variety of skill, games and video games available. Have a snack at the little snack bar. Or, grab a bite at one of the couple little restaurants on site. Check out the little wave shop. It's all here, it's all very close, and it's all family friendly. This is the place to go if you want to get away. Be aware, this place is in a fairly remote location. There isn't much here besides goldston's. There are a few stores a little ways down the road. But, this place is awesome for a family getaway for the weekend. Highly recommended. Very safe atmosphere, very friendly staff, and just all...

While they charge you $10 per person to swim and you can only swim until 5:30pm it is still a decent value if you get there early enough. They have an arcade, restaurants, icecream shop, a gift shop and a sports bar right at the water. They have decent parking inside a gate and overflow parking across the street. Police are there and keep everything in order and peaceful. I found the staff to be friendly. They make sure it stays clean picking up litter and emptying trash often. They don't allow you to bring outside food or drinks or coolers however I saw many on July 4th 2022 did. If you go bring a plenty of sunscreen, big sun hats , sun unbrellas, and water toys or plenty of money and get it all from the gift shop once you arrive. The sun is strong and there is no shade. Word of advise....DO NOT DIVE OFF THE PIER. The water is a lot more shallow than it appears. The deepest at the end of the swimming are is about 6.5 feet. Most of the swimming area is 4ft or less. Walk in is the safest way to enter the water. Over all if you want a safe, clean, friendly place to spend the day....this works.

We stayed at the hotel, it was clean but overpriced. It had a small kitchen which was nice, but the kitchen sink is also the bathroom sink. You are expected to sweep your room and take out your own trash. New management has ruined it. Dinner at the landing was okay but breakfast was horrible. Spoke to other guests who were also disappointed by the breakfast. The toast was still bread, our over easy eggs were covered in bits of other food but raw inside, (maybe a dirty grill?) The coffee was basically brown water and our 'blueberry' pancakes tasted faintly of blueberry but had no actual blueberries in them. We made a reservation but the hotel lost it. We will be going to Camp Clearwater from now on! The beach is tiny and the ropes are so far in that it is only waist deep on the hotel side of the pier.

White Lake is a beautiful public freshwater lake. Sometimes it can look almost blue, and has sand beaches. BUT ... Property surrounding the lake is either private or bought up with no real public access (unless you have a boat and use marina access). If you are going to drive from out of town, you better be staying at a campground or 'resort' or expect to pay $$$. $10 per person in the vehicle just for beach access and use of the pier. Everything else cost extra $$$. Restaurants are pricey, as are other attractions. Even the arcade is pricey. Some of the lodgings border in the ridiculous price range. It's a shame, because it's a pretty place, but they've kind of locked everyone out and monetized everything. I'll stick with our ocean parks and state parks.
