We were stuck driving into a snowstorm and after our routes were closed down from snow, we followed a snow plow off of our route and this was the end of their route and where we had no choice but to stay. There was a caravan of a few of us and the hotel was full of only employees staying since they were stuck as well. Every single person we encountered was incredibly kind, friendly, and compassionate. We hadn't eaten for a day because of close roads and they fed the few of us stuck there since they weren't really open as normal. There as no charge. I wish I kept track of names to thank them all. The bartender/person handling the food/ went so out of the way to be kind and be sure we had water, drinks, and were fed. The front desk staff, I believe specifically Cynthia, was so kind. There was only one person cleaning rooms under the circumstance and was so kind as well. She left the cart out to grab anything we needed since it was just her. These were not normal circumstances and nothing was open so we appreciated all of their kindness and I want them all to know. My son forgot his favorite pillow there. No idea how to even replace it and he was sleeping horrible at home. I called them to see if there was any way to get the pillow to us and she had it mailed to us immediately. I can't say enough about everyone from the people that were shoveling the driveway for an entire day, to the guy plowing the parking lot that plowed to get our car off the road and into the lot, to the entire staff. Under the horrible circumstances that we landed there from, we had the most wonderful stay and I can't say thank you enough. I mostly just want the staff to know how much it meant to us. The place isn't fancy but the stay...
Read moreHorrible, horrible place to stay. My family and I and many other family members were in the area for a funeral and decided to stay here. I really wish we hadn't. The hotel was disgusting, we arrived as a huge group at about 7 p.m. and we were all extremely hungry after traveling. Started to head to the "restaurant " and were notified it had already closed cause they were not busy. We were told there is a gas station across the street ( yum gas station food for dinner ) so we drove over as we didn't have many other options. Got there and guess what ? Closed !!! So I guess we just don't eat then ? This place is in the middle of nowhere. We finally drove about 20 miles and got some gas station pizza for dinner.
Later in the evening about 11 pm my significant other went down to the "casino" to gamble he was the only person in the whole place. His brother and nephew joined him. Shortly after they were surrounded with security telling them the casino was closed !!!!! Are you kidding me ??? Why are the doors unlocked if you are closed ???? They escorted them out of the building.
The room was utterly disgusting. Dead flies in the bathroom everywhere the bedding was pretty gross and our entertainment center had the handy work of someone's child drawn all over it. My boyfriend pulled a few staples up from the carpet that were sticking up waiting to stab you in the foot. The next morning we were trying to get ready and went to plug in a flat iron. The plug fell out of the wall. It wouldn't even hold it in. One person had to stand and hold the cord into the outlet while the other person did their hair. So horrible !!! I would never ever reccomend this place and in fact would tell you to run FAST to a nicer place. Don't waste...
Read moreHere is my input. No idea if the people there read or care about the reviews, but here it goes. The location is absolutely beautiful. While we did not explore what activities could be done there, there has to be a ton that can be marketed other than gambling alone. The Hotel itself, while the rooms seem clean, everything is coming apart. Roof shingles missing, water leaking into structure at entrance wood rotting away, dingy interior. They fixed it by screwing a 1x4 over it, no fix. First impressions count.
Dead bugs, cigarette buts, broken chairs, trash as you walk up to the front door. Really? You have security walking everywhere, they canât be bothered to help keep thing clean and help lift the impression? Itâs not a place of pride.
Restaurant? What Restaurant? They serve things that are pre packaged. Chicken strips, mini tacos, burgers, some soups. Neither of which are any good. They are eatable (barely) but not worthy of what I expect from even a mediocre place, not to speak of a casino. Even a fresh simple quick menu, limited choices, but freshly made and well done would be great. The person selling us the food had no idea of what was what or what it was. Nice person but totally clueless.
There was a ton of âsecurityâ people there, maybe some of those can be trained to help maintain things?
The place is in a beautiful area, with a little bit of effort, maybe this could be a destination place. The way itâs going, fairly soon it will be a prime example of what happens when people donât care.
The price for the rooms is very reasonable. The person at the front desk was lovely and very helpful. I am sure many people there care, seems management does not.
Sad to see potential...
