It's super convenient to Whitefish. Because we were here so late in the season, most of the other campgrounds were closed for the season. Very clean restrooms with blissfully hot water at the sinks. Sites were mostly good sized with lots of trees. Pretty little lake and boat ramp that gets lots of use. The camp hosts were great! Very strong cell service in the campground - enough to stream movies. Great hikes nearby but none in the campground as it's surrounded by private land. I would have given it a 5 but for two things. First, the train tracks are RIGHT NEXT to the campground and no fewer than 24 trains go through every day. They are VERY LOUD! The tracks are raised, so the trees do not buffer the noise. Second, they advertise hot showers, but they are $3 for SIX minutes. What's worse is that it took three minutes for any warmth to come into the pipe and it never got hot, only lukewarm. The camp host warned to run the sink first before starting the shower to bring the hot water to the building. I did this. The sink water was scalding when I started the shower, but it made no difference. And, HOT...

Though the trains did come through during the night, it is easy to sleep through and did not bother us one bit. Even paying non resident fees, I would happily pay them again to be able to help maintain the park and be able to enjoy the space. Park ranger stopped by and was extremely friendly and answered questions we had about the area. My advice if you are looking to stay here or any park in the state, grow a pair and dont be a cry baby about minor inconveniences. If you can't handle a little hardship while camping in a designated lot then maybe you should stay close to...

Came here with the intention of staying for a week, as a “base camp” of sorts for visiting Glacier. Screw that.
The fact of the matter is that a freight train drives by every 30 minutes. This isn’t mentioned anywhere on the campground website online or in reservation papers, that it’s less than 30 feet away and my camper literally vibrates any time one goes by.
Whoever decided to put a campground by a train track is a clown. I genuinely can’t believe I have to account for the existence of train tracks when deciding campgrounds to go to...
