This was my very first camp ground my family attended together for years as a kid. Back when I remember it was a yogi bear. Up until I was maybe 12 we stopped going. Not sure why. But then years later went back and it just wasn’t the same. This was my favorite place as a kid. Recently went up for my sister in laws graduation party. Instant memories. Not sure how it was over the years we didn’t attend. But, the new owners are making nice progress which takes time. Pool looks great! The pond looks great as well. Little jump area for kids in the front. Ladies in the store are very nice. Very clean. I did however notice the water slide in the back is gone. There is a Vollyball net near the pond. I was so shocked to see how many campers are parked there. We went back again just to swim! $7 for a day pass. Not bad. I enjoyed our time and plan to be back! If you see a little precious boy giving random kisses to strangers at the pool it’s my awesome autistic son. 💙 go make your way to covered wagon before summer ends :)

This place is very old and outdated. The staff was friendly but not very helpful. It looks like it was a great place maybe back in the eighties. There is a huge water slide that has fallen to disrepair. I’m sure it was nice back in the day. There seems to be a lot of permanent campers and this makes it appear trashy. To add to our disappointment my brother had an expensive tool box stolen from his truck. It also bothers me that the owners respond to very positive reviews to thank them but won’t take the time to address concerns.

Not fancy, but comfy and quiet. Close to town yet “country/outdoor” feel. Staff friendly and helpful. Pool , restrooms and laundry room available. Hubby up here working and one of very few still open during winter that he could find a spot to rest his head and call home. My only issue is the laundry facilities need a little work/updates; but available if need. Handy when yours broke and not available. Beautiful pond and play areas for the kids and family & Pet friendly!

Let me first start with the things my family enjoyed. The pool was great. It was more the hang out for the younger kids and adults. The lake was the spot for the older kids and they loved it. A few items for the kids to jump off of made for a fun time too. The train at night. The little kids loved, loved, loved this. They just thought it was the coolest thing. The tractor pull (don't remember if that's the real name) kids also really enjoyed this. They had some activities for the kids to do during the day. Drawing, bingo and even a DJ. The kids ages 4 - 8 really enjoyed the putt-putt however my 13-18 not so much. They said it was lame and old, I didn't play so just going off of what my kids told me.

So as for the things that were either just ok or did not like about the campground were: Our campsite was a decent size but they are a little smaller than other places. I did notice the some people had a hard time fitting their campers in and in some areas it was just a really, really tight fit! So double check about the lot size. I would stick to the center or the back for campsites. 2.The showers and bathrooms were ok. They have 2 showers, I never had to wait when I went. I don't feel that they clean them often, maybe once a week, when it should be every day. The basketball court shouldn't even be allowed to be called a basketball court. It was so disappointing to find out that the court was grass, not blacktop and the hoops were bent. So to sum it all up for the courts, not even worth bringing a ball. They shouldn't even advertise that they have this because it's false advertisement! When we first got there we didn't have a fire pit nor a picnic table. We had to go and ask for one and it was still an issue. We went with 2 other parties and our sites were all together, they only wanted to give us one table but ended up giving us 2 tables for 15 people. So it just seems that they didn't have enough tables for the all the sites. The two people I went camping with they each had a camper and they complained about nothing having enough amps. We heard several campers say the same thing. They had to switch over to their propane so they could run their air.

Overall I'm not sure if I would come back here but we did enjoy our weekend. Also, we went memorial weekend and they didn't have any of the lake toys ready to use either, that was...

We just arrived home yesterday after a 4 night/5 day stay. There were some things that we liked, but unfortunately some others we did not. Pros: *Staff members were nice and seemed to like their jobs. *The pool was very clean and refreshing. *It was very quiet, even when busy on Saturday. *Our kids loved playing Gaga Ball! *The wagon ride and glow train were cute for the kids *The water did not have a sulfur smell like some other campgrounds. *Price for the site was very reasonable

Cons: *Site was pretty small, and very hard to back a camper into, as it was angled and the posts on the other side of the road were difficult to work around. *Bath house was not cleaned the entire 5 days we were there. My husband went in upon arrival and said someone had shaved at the sink and left beard trimmings all over. Those beard trimmings were still there when we left. He did not inform anyone, as he wanted to see if the bathrooms were actually being cleaned as their website brags about the “certifiably clean bathrooms”. Ladies room was not clean as well, and we found it rather odd and uncomfortable that none of the stall doors had locks on them. *Besides the Gaga pit, the rest of the playground equipment is very old and in rough shape. My husband remembers that stuff being there when he was a kid. Paint is chipping off, things are very squeaky, and just look very old and run down. *Mini golf was in rough shape and very badly needed the grass to be cut in there. *One staff member was vaping or smoking (I couldn’t tell which it was) outside of the office/store entrance every time we came up. There is a no smoking sign posted right there, so it definitely was not inviting and should have been done elsewhere, away from customers. *We tried to swim in the pond, but the overwhelming smell of dead fish made us head to the pool instead. *Website claims to have a snack bar and game room, but that room appears to have become a storage room, with no food offered and no video games plugged in.

So all in all, while the trip had some good times, I do not feel we will be returning until some changes are made, which we hope will happen! The place has...

We stayed here for two months in our motorhome. When we arrived, Josh, one of the staff members, helped us (without being asked!) to park our motorhome. He saw we were tired and came right down to help us out. Which was really nice. While their isn’t truly a dog park so to speak, there is a very large field that our dogs got to stretch their legs and do their business in, away from other campers and guests. They loved it far more than any dog park they have been in. And it was a nice walk for us too! Our site was fantastic, it was right next to the bathhouse, and we got a chance to make it our own. It came equipped with a picnic table, a concrete patio and fire pit. We were able to make it really cute. The staff was FANTASTIC! Brodie, Stephanie and Josh work non stop always making improvements and keeping the park clean, and well maintained. They are also super friendly and really helpful. It’s clearly a family business and it’s nice to have a park that isn’t run by some Corporation in another state. On the weekends, out comes the train rides for the kiddos. On holidays they even offer a hay ride. All free. I can’t say enough about this park, yes, sometimes things go array when it gets really busy, but they always get right back on it. Every week there was a new improvement to the park being made, or another project being completed, When we left they were redoing the outside of the clubhouse. Most of the campers were great too! We made lots of friends while here and we were welcomed with open arms by the staff. All in all, this park is our “go to” place for when we come to Michigan. Our home away from home.

If you’re looking for a down to earth campground to take your family to-this is the place. It’s not corporate run, so sometimes things take some time. Which is fine with us. It’s the people that are here that makes it so special and the heart and soul this family puts into making every campers experiences a positive one. And if you’re into dogs, don’t forget to pet Piper when she is out on her walks...
