I took a solo trip here with my pup and stayed at one of their kabanas. I was shocked when I got there at how amazing the views were of the lake! The inside felt like a little hotel, and outside had all the amenities of a nice campsite. They have a personal firepit available for you with deep metal sides (a bit windy here being right off the water), an outdoor sink + prep area, and a small charcoal grill. I was able to request firewood and fire starter in my reservation (for a fee), and after messaging them I was there, they brought it out to me. Even left a personalized note welcoming me. Really liked how they had the extra amenities such as bug spray, snacks, meds, things like that available for purchase right in your cabin like a little mini bar. The sheets were soft, the pillows were great, and the chairs they had provided outside were great too. There were lots and lots of bugs at night (may be a camping newbie, but it could have been cool for them to give you some tips on keeping the bugs from getting inside of the cabin), but that’s to be expected getting into warmer weather. I was able to set up a hammock in between two trees and didn’t feel bothered by anyone at all here. I loved that the community was gated, it felt very secure, and I felt safe as a woman traveling alone. The wildlife refuge down the road was a highlight of my stay, but there’s also plenty of birding you can do right at the campsites. This is a great new, quick getaway from DFW, close, but just far enough. Bathrooms were clean, although I do wish they would have provided some kind of mini toiletries for the glamping guests. Even if there was some way to purchase some mini toiletries in the building, I would have paid the price for that extra touch. I feel like I was the only one staying here this time (early in the season), but that was another favorite part of my stay. Everything was quiet, safe, and a nice way to get away from the city. Fully equipped grocery store was just 15 minutes down the road, I think they had more camping appropriate groceries than I could have even brought with me. Will definitely be back to stay here.

3.5 stars: Rented Kabana #12 to celebrate the New Year. Unfortunately, it was pouring that day, and it was cold! We still decided to go because it was supposed to clear up by the next day. Upon arrival, there was a big puddle of water in the Kabana. It was obvious the water was coming from outside (from the pouring rain). This was already bad, but what made it 10x worse was that the water was dripping right on the electrical outlet. We immediately turned the heater off and called front desk. They responded quickly, but their first solution was questionable. The maintenance guy (super friendly) came with an extension cord and plugged the heater to that and then plugged the cord to another outlet inside the Kabana. The guy assured us that the extension cord was for outdoor use so it should have no issues with the dripping water or the water puddle that's still forming inside the Kabana. The front desk manager cleaned up the water puddle and gave us rags to wipe more water away as the water was still dripping inside the Kabana. The rags were soaked within 5 minutes because it was still pouring outside. When they left, I felt extremely uneasy. It was not hard to trip over the extension cord, and the rain wasn't going away anytime soon. Long story short, they offered Kabana #9 to us after I reached out to them again to see if there were any other options. Originally, the front desk manager said Kabana #9 wasn't an option because of electrical issues. Within an hour of saying that, all of sudden, the issues in Kabana #9 were fixed. Questionable if they really fixed anything. We ended up taking that offer because we had no other choice, and it was better than staying at Kabana #12 with the growing water puddle and extension wires running across the room. When the weather finally really cleared up, the view of the lake was beautiful, and everything else was great (minus the bathrooms). We've made another reservation because we love sitting around the fire, grilling, and enjoying the view. As long as it's not raining, the experience is nice.

This place is wonderful. Took my wife and 2 young sons for a quick one nighter and it worked well. My wife is not outdoorsy at all and I enjoy weeklong september backpacking trips in the Colorado elk country. She cant wait to go glamping again now. I wish I had found this place a long time ago. Lol I was thoroughly impressed with how clean, organized, and well stocked these Kasitas are. They have a basket (mini-bar) with great items for purchase but even the outdoor kitchen had all the basics needed to be real comfortable as camp cook, with dish soap to boot. The firepit was nice to put to work as one would imagine camping in January. Bring your own hand soap, the camp sink only has cold water but the sink at the bathhouse has warm. Speaking of. The bathrooms were the make-or-break of this trip for my anxious wife. Turns out the horse trailer conversion is nice. She was ok with it so rest assured the situation isn't too shabby. Two showers and two toilets for each gender, are nice though the stalls are narrow. But a real toilet is very nice and its almost enough to forget you're "camping." We are already planning another trip back in the spring for a birthday. Keep up the great work.

The property is absolutely beautiful with plenty of trees and fantastic views of the lake. With the pictures online and some good reviews my 2 boys and I were excited to give it a shot. Only a short drive from FT worth we were excited to get out and enjoy a campfire, go fishing and just relax. First I must say in the beginning the customer service was 5 stars. But after the stay it fell to a 1 star. I’ll explain later. This review is about tent camping in space #1 advertised as a tent/ rv spot. This particular spot isn’t the best for tent camping. Only a few level spots that are not infected with fire ants. It took us 3 tries before we found the spot. Unfortunately it was way closer to the road than we wanted and gave us zero privacy. Here were the issues we had to problem solve with. Fire ants, dead snake and the smell of dog poop. The water area was nice and the overall section we were in was never crowded. It was a quiet spot with some light but nothing that blocked star gazing. Now the super negatives about this facility. Trash, trash and trash. Upon leaving myself and the boys did our best to leave it cleaner than we arrived. The one item that littered the entire property was cigarette butts. We did fill up a small plastic sack of trash we found between our site and the empty neighboring site. Tent poles, rope and other ransoms were left from the previous tenant. (Thanks for the new nylon rope! ). Now let me bring you to the bathrooms. I’m all for primitive camping and honestly not looking for 5 stars but if you advertise bathrooms they better be clean and most importantly..... working. Now at the site and the fortune and not so fortunate of having bathrooms about 20 yards away. They were the outhouse style and of course never the best but my god take a power washer and clean it! After a long day in the heat it’s nice to shower if available. The shower area only had one working shower and the other obviously hadn’t been cleaned in quite sometime. So to the costumer service. Before our arrival it was made very easy to check in through text and even add firewood and tickets to another area for day use beach access. I did buy tickets for the day use area about 15 minutes away. Upon arrival I gave my name and they gave me 5 tickets for entry but I thought I had only ordered 3. The front gate gave me a number to call to see about reimbursement. I called right away and left a message. My phone call was never returned and I’m still patiently waiting. It was only $14 but still you got to at least follow through. I had also replied to several of the text messages from the property about the situation. No reply or callback either. So with this trip I have to give you an unfortunate 2 stars. I hope to come back and check out one the small cabins. If we make it back we will to a full YouTube...

We were there for my 50th birthday. It was a surprise party. We stayed in the kabanas facing the lake. Bed was very firm. The plugs next to the bed were very difficult to reach and it was very difficult to get out of the bed. It would be nice if the plugs were higher up the wall with a shelf to lay your phone to charge. Maybe a handle to get out of the bed. No privacy for the window. No curtain or blind. So uncomfortable. Due to no near restroom, (the park rules stated you could bring any items you would camp with), I brought my small shower tent to use my camp potty. Due to health issues, I needed to be close to restroom. Tonya the "camp host", came by early morning to tell me she received complaints and I needed to take down the "tent". I also needed to move my camp chair away from the tree "shade" near the Cabin next to us which was "vacant". Mind you, we were the only people there at the time, myself, husband, sister in law and brother. She did not greet me when she pulled up and was not hospitable at all. She noticed my dog and immediately assumed he was not on a leash. Which he was. Mind you, her three large dogs were running loose down the road when my brother and wife arrived. The dogs barking at her while she was trying to unload. She was frightened of them. While we were there, we went to swim and other family started arriving. My Aunt who is 73 arrived and was looking for us. She parked near our cabin to find us. She noticed my happy birthday banner so she stopped. We immediately came up the washed out shoreline to get her. This happened within 5 minutes. We started to let her know where to park and begin to tell her about the leash rule when Tonya drove up on her golf car. She again no hospitality, stated you can't park here and dog must be on a leash. She did not give anytime for us to let our guest know about the rules. Camp rules also stated that you were not allowed more than 8 people per camping areas. Well, there was a huge group there and they all gathered in 1 camping area with approx 15-20 people. Also, Tonya lives there in an RV and had 2 tents set up in her camping spot. I will not come back due to the harshness of Tonya's enforcement of rules but for some and not all. No hospitality on her part. The other lady, (2nd week there), was at least hospitable. Even when she needed to enforce rules she was courteous about it. She was the only one cleaning restrooms, which were dirty or closed due to being dirty. No Paradise here just stressful due to Camp...
