Parkway Inn — Hotel in Whitesburg

My family has used this place for many years until now. Came for a family reunion this time. |Unfortunately we all have to rate it very low. This use to be a good place to stay. But not any more. |Me and my wife both were bitten all over our bodies by bed bugs, and then we later found we transported them all back home in our personal belongings that were left in the room all weekend .|There is absolutely no excuse for this. None. Place could use a major makeover as well. Deep cleaning is needed , paint , carpet, updated period. |With all that Whitesburg has been through ? The very least a business owner can do is make sure those that the people who travel here have a clean , bug free place to stay. Not just for the travelers , but for the families and loved ones that live here. |I called and reported it to the hotel but haven’t heard back. I called a month before for the reservation, and the gentleman said he wrote it down and in the book when I got to the motel to check in, they had given my room to someone else I requested downstairs because I am 79 and my spouse is 70 we can’t walk up stairs good so after sometime, they put us in a room upstairs and we had to climb stairs in order to take our luggage and go up to the room they smell outside of our room smelled like raw sewage. I am contacting the letcher county health department to check into that situation. I will not stay at Parkway Inn anymore. They never offered to give us a room downstairs the next day so far two days and nights we had to climb the stairs , this motel needs a total remodel and also needs new management management that can take a reservation and also hold a reservation until the gas shows up. I was very very disappointed and I would not recommend this motel to anyone. I have stayed here for the last 40 years,...

Unfortunately I have the gross habit of smoking and I watch these employees clean these rooms and I have never seen such attention to detail to every room. I read the reviews and was a sceptic. But we haven't seen such cleanliness in a very long time.||This is a family owned business I believe. But each time I've ask for indulgence of what we prefer, no matter the subject, we have been accommodated. Fresh coffee 24/7, just ask for microwave & fridge and had it within minutes....and all while the employees thanked me for my stay ,& asking if they could accommodate me further.|My husband travels for business and this is the first time we both were able to give 5 stars. Cleanliness, polite, family friendly environment, answers all our questions about their town while making us feel welcome...almost unheard of in today's hospitality business.||Funny... I'm Just sitting out here smoking and had the actual owner ask if he could help in...
