That is, unless you like being RIGHT ON TOP of your neighbor and you like rocky beaches and rocky water entrances. Then, go right ahead. The website is very misleading. We normally camp at the state park in Tawas, but unable to get in, we booked at Brown's Landing because it seemed from the website, a decent alternative. One of the seasonal guests told me that the website has not been updated in more than 5 years. The pics are very outdated. Upon seeing our site (#3), we asked the owners to hand back our check and that we would go elsewhere, but they would not. We were scheduled to stay 8 nights. Now, every camp ground we've ever booked at - private or public - has always asked for the size of the camper and how many slides you have. Apparently that doesn't matter here because they will put a monstrous motor home with multiple slides into the same size site as a 16ft camper with no slides. You can see from our pics that once an RV of that size is next to you, you have very little room to breathe, let alone walk. Our camper is 28 foot with no slides...if we had a slide, I'm not sure how we would have fit as they had us sandwiched RIGHT against a tree. Once the motor home pulled in next to us, it barely cleared our awning. As for the beach...there is no beach. It's very rocky. So, if you have kids that like to play in the sand and surf, that is not going to happen. Water shoes are a must because the first 10 feet into the water is all rocks, big rocks. You have to step carefully and I can't imagine doing it barefoot. There are also no firepits, but instead a movable half barrel. Lastly, what little space you do have by the water, gets taken by seasonal people. I have attached a pic of the water area on a Saturday morning at around 9am. They start putting their chairs out early, leaving no room for anyone else. So, you've been warned...book at...
Read moreI made reservations based off the reviews. First, the reviews on their website are handpicked, not a full representation of what ALL clients are actually saying. Second, it is a full time RV living park. It is a TRAILER PARK, NOT A CAMPGROUND. I called a week ahead to cancel our reservations as this was not a family camp like I read. As a disabled veteran, I need space and calm. I requested my deposit back a week before our reservations. I was told they have a two-week cancelation policy. NO WHERE is this policy written or explained. NO WHERE. Not on their site, not on my emails, no contract was given and no verbal notification. Aaron was condescending, rude, arrogant and insulted me several times stating I didn't follow their policies. WHAT POLICIES? He told me he wasn't a mind reader and I should have given more info when I wanted to cancel. Questioned why I didn't go into the business as opposed to calling and writing (none of this should affect my deposit; all control ugliness from a man who obviously cannot handle people) WELL, sir, you own the business, and I am not a mind reader regarding your policies. SO, this business not only falsely advertises what they have and who lives/stays there....they also don't publish policy and take advantage of the deposits left behind. BAD BUSINESS, UGLY TRAILER PARK, RUDE OWNERS. SAD SAD SAD....We will be going to court over $135 deposit due to their failure to post and notify us of their unwritten, unspoken policies. GO...
Read moreWe camped for a few weekends in the summer of 2022 and we loved it. We decided to pay for a seasonal site for the 2023 and we are glad we did. |The campground is clean, the bathrooms are always clean, and the beach, although it is very rocky it is always clean. I don't think I've ever seen any trash on the ground anywhere at this campground. Even though there is a beach here to enjoy, you are just a quick drive to the big beaches on Tawas and even Oscoda. Walmart is 10 minutes away and shopping is right down the street. The is a wonderful location. If you like biking, bring your bike, there is a wonderful and long bike trail. |Of course there are some sites or "blocks" where the campers are closer together but I've never camped at a campground where they didn't have some sites that are more narrow than others. We have a wonderful site that I like very much and we have so much space, so it's definitely possible to get a site with some space.| This is definitely a family friendly campground. There is a jungle gym on the beach for younger children. There are lots of kids in families here and I will say all of the children are kind welcoming, and respectful. The owners families children have been so kind and walking to my kids. Will definitely be staying on the site here for...
