I just want to say that I currently stay here and "currently" this place is no more than a hideout/hangout for boulder highways cheap meth addicts and other undesirables. The beds are horrible to lay on. Bigger horrors should u remove the linen and look at the actual mattress. Mold growing out of a/c units wreak havoc on ur respiratory system. Bedbugs, roaches, spiders, yuck! 1 week after moving into this place las vegas metro and swat raided a room a few doors down from me. The loud bang from them breaking down the door almost sent my wife to the hospital, PTSD and all. Late at night u cannot find the front desk employee. As he has most likely wandered off to smoke some cheap meth. Anyone "currently" giving this place anything more than 2 stars is either lying, I.E employed by sunset motel or comes from a neighborhood so horrible I can't even imagine it.
Follow up... As of late April 2017... Hello again travelers and reviewers. I do still reside here at "Sunset Motel", and all I can say is things have only gotten worse. It is spring, almost summer here in las vegas, and that means more bugs, meaner attitudes and a huge increase of violent crimes. Especially down here on boulder highway. And especially on this part of boulder highway. Now some of u may ask? Why do u still live there if things are that bad? Well, some of us have no other option. Because we have unpaid utility bills and cannot afford to pay for our electric and water immediately should we move into an actual apartment/townhouse in a safer part of las vegas. And as far as the crime goes? Well, some of us have become so jaded to it because we see it or hear it or hear of it on a daily and sometimes hourly basis. Getting back to the property and the rooms. This place is still a bug and drug and mold filled crap cake, topped with bloody mattresses frosting, a few crumbles of "that guy looks like he belongs on americas most wanted" and "omg, will I survive until sunrise", and finally riddled with a very generous helping of shady nasty looking meth heads. And do not entertain those movie like fantasies about renting a room here for a week, buying urself a sack of dope and finding urself a cute lil plaything. SMH... Leave that fantasy to the movies my son. The women down here leave a whole lot to be desired. There goes ur las vegas hooker who tricks for dope fantasy. Do urself a favor, even if u are on a budget or u had to stay on boulder highway for some reason, as long as u are just visiting or passing through las vegas, u could do a whole lot better than this crap cake of a dump yard and it may even be cheaper and will be a whole lot safer for urself, ur wife and/or kids and even ur belongings to stay at Sam's Town or Boulder Station or even Arizona Charlie's for god's sake. This place is home for me. But like I said, I am stuck here due to financial constraints. Don't let that fool u into thinking that this place is cheap. Like I said, u could do so much better at an actual hotel or even a weekly. Thankyou for taking the time...
Read moreIt is not known whether or not drugs are a problem here. Because nobody ever sees drugs. They just see people they believe are on drugs.
Usually, it has been white rednecks who have accused black people of dealing with drugs there. Because rednecks usually will not mind their own business, especially with black people. They assume that they are black people's, who are total strangers to them, parents. And they like to judge black people having fun, and who rarely deal with drugs, to feel better about their own boring and overly- privileged lives. Basically, rednecks won't ever relax, and just like to make more work on themselves. Other motels in Las Vegas, that are not in that redneck area, have not made guests their business. The only exceptions are if guests cause noise issues or v!olence on other guests. Those motels' know that the only business of theirs is housekeeping and collecting money. Guests have their own lives.
The bottom line is that if Sunset Motel is a business, then they should not judge who they do business with. They should not be a redneck motel, but a motel.
One example, a redneck male employee there stares at and stalks mostly black male guests all night. He especially seems to like intimidating their female visitors. But later, he flirts with female guests. So he has just used his job to be a rac!st...
Read moreSo I have stayed here a month so far and have spent 1700 for the stay so far. The rooms are unremarkable but clean. Some small roaches and you can feel all the springs in the mattress. Now the room comes with a bathroom that's about the size of a broom closet there is no maintenance for the property so I had to be my own plumber. The room comes with a microwave and a mini fridge. And an old school tube tv that's about 20 years old. The property owner is here on Friday and Saturday to up the prices to over a hundred dollars for the weekend per night. The property manager was arguing with a pimp that woke me and my disabled wife up at 830 in the morning with their yelling. There's alot of drugs being dealt in the parking lot and between multiple rooms. There's a bar next door that keeps a steady supply of homeless hookers and drug addicts coming over to provide their services. We've had two hookers knock on our door out of the blue asking if we wanted sex. There's a drunk lady in room 18 that keeps knocking on our door and others asking for food and money for some beer. When she isn't knocking she has a train of black men white men and prostitutes staying in her room and running their business out of there. This is one of the worst hotels in las Vegas I've...
