Normally we are huge fans of the Williams, Exit 167 KOA location. But this last stay seemed to be full of nothing but complications. Granted, we booked a few weeks before they close for the season thinking that the weather would be wonderful and we would have all of the normal amenities available to us.
Unfortunately, this was not the case. The cafe was closed for the season, even though the camp was going to be open for another three weeks. We were really excited about Bills lemonade, which was also not available.
Our RV sites were not next to each other, even though our booking requested this three weeks out from our arrival. When asking to move next to one another the associate behind the desk was not helpful. Kathy acted bothered and annoyed with this request and didn't seem to want to help in the slightest.
We were told our KOA membership was no good, even though it doest expire until spring of 2020. Nothing about this trip seemed to go well, and the desk staff was not enjoyable to work with. The exception was Mitzie. She helped us figure out the membership issue and put in the effort to do a manual search for us.
The pool hours were posted on the gate as 9am-9pm. However, the staff made us leave right at 8pm. The staff also passed by the pool area every few minutes. Every time they did, they made sure to tell our kids to stay out of the spa. They were rude and unfriendly about this. What blew my mind was that our kids were not even taking use of the spa. We felt this to be excessive and unnecessary.
We are huge fans of the KOA in Chula Vista, CA, which is owned by the same people as this Williams KOA. We were greatly disappointed in our experience and believe Kathy to be a big issue with this location. This is not the first time we have experienced issues with her. If the owners of this KOA see this review, I sincerely hope they reconsider the position Kathy has at this location. A person who enjoys customer service would greatly benefit the overall tone of the camp.
For us, we will most likely forfeit visiting this location so close to the end of the season, in the future. We would rather visit when ALL of the amenities are available. Or take the extra time to stay in the Chula Vista, CA...
Read moreI rarely give any place I visited a 5-star review but this RV park and I am pretty its sister KOA RV park closer to Grand Canyon is the same, deserve a 5 or 6 star review We are doing our first time cross country road trip with my partner, two school aged children and my 70-year old mom. We didn't plan to stay in Arizona or Williams on our trip but the vehicle towed our RV trailer broke down so we needed to stay here for 2-3 days as the beginning we thought. Then we had issues with AAA service and the towing company charging us outrageous price to move the car to Flagstaff, KOA manager helped us move to the employee site where we actually stayed for almost 9 days now. their staffs are all so helpful and friendly to try to help us pass these difficulties we are dealing with, and their complete facilities and amenities are amazing so our children were able to really enjoy themselves and making friends, including our 6-month old dog. I cannot express how satisfied and grateful to this KOA Journey site. They have cafe with fantastic food and staffs, swimming pool and two hot massage pools, two large dog parks, lodges, go cars my older son loved it), horse riding, mini-golf, and many others. This is truly an Oasis at the gateway to Grand Canyon NP next to highway 40. also just 40 mins to Flagstaff where you can also enjoy restaurants and other services. This is probably the BEST place and experience I have ever have in my 20 years of traveling in USA, and I am HIGHLY RECOMMENDING it, even though I know they are fully booked all the time already. The owner Cathy met my partner to help him resolve our issues today and let us stay for another day and keep the broken car in their spare parking lot with NO CHARGE so we can sort out some issues still remaining for us to deal with while we are leaving tomorrow and go home. I can see how happy and professional all their staffs are and we will forever remember and return to this place...
Read moreWe love KOA circle pines/Williams. The staff is so kind and so welcoming.
There is something to do all throughout the day whether you stay at the camp ground or venture out to explore. The jumping pillow, train and playground are so incredibly nice to have for the kiddos. We did do the go carts but didn’t make it to the ponies this year. We did get to ride the hay ride which was just another added bonus for the kids. Also provide crafts but you do have to pay for them, which kinda sucks since you’re paying so much to stay there already. It’s just a few bucks, so not a huge deal. One of the main reasons we stay there is all the extra activities for the kids. We stayed in a deluxe cabin and it was a comfortable stay. A few complaints though, in our cabin when we arrived the bathroom we feel could have been cleaned a little deeper. There were hairs on the shower floor and yellow stains on the base of the shower. Not very please with that. Felt a little grossed out. The sheets also had hairs and animal hairs on the comforter and sheets which again was not what I was expecting to see. We ended up getting new sheets but we shouldn’t have to change sheets upon arrival. The cabins face the back side into the woods. It’s very private and only shared with your cabin neighbors.
We stayed in L1 which had a full bathroom, bunk bed, pull out and queen room. It had a grill and a swing on the porch. Soap, paper towels, utensils, grilling utensils, coffee, Keurig, full size fridge and kitchen towels are all apart of the cabin. We didn’t know that and brought a lot of our own things. I wanted to take detailed photos because when I was looking I couldn’t find a layout of our cabin.
On site is also a pool, hot tub and 2 playgrounds. We also enjoyed the cafe at breakfast and dinner. (Closed for lunch)
