Bluebird Farm — Hotel in Willington

We recently had our wedding at Bluebird farm and our experience working with them throughout the process was excellent

When my wife and I were were first hunting for venues we struggled to find a place that felt right (let alone would allow a smaller wedding of 50 people to take place.) However, we eventually came across Bluebird Farm while searching through venues across Connecticut online. After watching the videos on their website with Carmen and Joe we knew we wanted to book tour. Booking was easy and upon arrival we knew almost immediately this was where we wanted to get married.

When it came the planning process the team there was very helpful and responsive to all of our questions. They made sure everything was clear. To help with the planning process they not only provide detailed maps on their website(this made planning table layouts and vendor locations very easy.) they also link you over to weven to help track the process with suggested timelines to complete tasks throughout the process and keep all of your documentation and contracts together and organized.

Another added bonus is the option to stay onsite. No having to worry about running between a hotel and venue or any transportation. They have a barn loft as well as a tree house to stay in. We booked both and split them between our wedding party and ourselves. It was great to be able to wake up on-site and relax before having to get ready.

When we thought it couldn’t get any better the team really shined when it came to the weekend of the event. We arrived on Friday and we’re immediately welcomed by Lisa. She had prepared wagons to help us move everything and was there to answer any questions as well as help with layout. Her and the team helped run through a few layouts for the ceremony area and helped get everything set into position.

On the day of the wedding they were attentive and made everything easy. They helped guide the vendors to the locations we wanted them. They had parking attendants help with getting everyone in. They checked in with us if we’d like a fire and got it started for us and our guests. They even repaired a sign for us that had broken when it fell over during the night no questions asked. As an added bonus they even took a good amount of candid photos throughout the setup, rehearsal, and wedding and sent them over to us just a few days after the event.

The morning after the wedding Joe helped us break down the venue and get it prepared for Taylor rental to come pick it up. They even double checked the treehouse and barn before we left to make sure we weren’t forgetting anything.

All of our guests kept telling us how much they loved the venue, how much they enjoyed themselves, and felt relaxed while there.

Carmen, Joe, and their daughter Lisa were amazing!!

We booked Bluebird Farm as our wedding venue, and right off the bat we were treated like family. They were VERY accommodating and let us do what we wanted with the property, and let us have our wedding exactly the way we wanted it.

On the day before the wedding, Lisa helped us set up and was very friendly. Even though we had paid other vendors to help us set up, they STILL did what they could to make sure everything ran smoothly.

On the day of the wedding, Carmen and Joe (in combination with our staff) handled everything they could so my husband and I wouldn't need to worry about a thing.

They took care of parking, emptying the trash, and more. Plus they brought out buckets of food so our guests could feed the animals! We and our guests loved seeing all the sheep, goats, ducks, dogs, and their pet pig. Despite all the animals, there wasn't a strong "farm" smell hanging in the air. My husband and I wound up eating dinner fairly close to all the animals, but we didn't smell anything at all!

The flowers surrounding the gazebo were beautiful for pictures, and there were plenty of areas for guests to hang out (there were even some nice quiet areas that made good "break" spots for folks who needed to take a moment to themselves).

The Treehouse was such a cool place to stay and the Barn Loft was recently renovated and MUCH nicer that we expected! It was great (and we appreciated the air conditioning).

Our wedding venue was simply perfect—rustic, adorable, and felt like home. The spaciousness allowed for so much creative opportunity, making our day uniquely ours. Carmen, Joe, and Lisa were incredible, acting as our day-of coordinators and handling so much behind the scenes that I was able to relax and truly enjoy my wedding day.

Our guests were equally impressed with the property and adored the farm animals, especially since there was feed available for them to interact with the pets. Carmen, Joe, and Lisa ensured everything went smoothly, lending us items we needed, helping with setup and cleanup, and bringing the perfect vibes to our big day. They felt like family, and we made the best memories as we officially became husband and wife.

A special bonus was Lisa sending us tons of behind-the-scenes photos that captured moments we wouldn't have otherwise seen. The loft and treehouse stays were unique and added a special touch. Sitting by the fire pits at the end of the night, reflecting on the day's excitement, was absolutely lovely. We would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend this venue!
