We’ve been RV’ing for over 6 years, mostly staying at KOA sites with the occasional private park, and Willis Hillside RV Resort is easily one of the best we’ve ever experienced.
Here’s what we loved: • Location is perfection — close to both Conroe and the heart of Willis, with easy access to major highways, yet far enough to enjoy peace and quiet without the hum of city noise. • Well-lit and safe — every corner of the park is well illuminated, making late arrivals or evening strolls feel safe. • Impressive Wi-Fi — believe it or not, it actually works! Not just for email or light browsing—we were able to stream movies with no issue. That’s a rare find in the RV world! • Adult-only pool hours — even as parents, we appreciated this thoughtful touch. • A food truck with music — and not the disruptive kind! We were parked right next to it, enjoyed dinner, watched a movie, and still fell asleep without a hitch. • Spacious and maneuverable — the turning radius here is a dream. Pads and lanes are wide enough to avoid that crammed-in feeling. There’s room to spread out a bit and enjoy your space. • Every detail feels intentional — from the hook-ups (immaculate), to the landscaping, to the layout of amenities—it’s clear this place was designed with care and the guest in mind. • Amenities galore: • Showers and restrooms near the lake and pool • Coffee bar in the main office • Laundry facility, fitness center, propane, gated entry, trash pickup • Fire pits by the pool, dog park, nature area, and even catch-and-release fishing
While it’s not geared specifically for children (aside from the pool), that’s the norm for most private parks unless they’re family-focused. The vibe is a mix of older guests, workers staying temporarily, and the occasional visiting family like ours.
In short: this park is clean, quiet, functional, and thoughtfully designed. We’ve been looking for a spot like this while visiting family in the area—and we’ve finally found it.
Side Note but Incredibly Important: the owner and staff and freaken friendly! We felt welcomed every time we had a question or ran into them. Thoroughly impressed.

Read moreWe are staying here for the first time. We were a little concerned about road noise on 1097, but honestly it has not been too noisy at all. It’s a new park and they are still ironing out some glitches, but overall it has been a good stay. The owner and staff are super friendly. The sites are spacious and relatively level. The price is fair. They are putting in a pool which might be in by February. They had to cut down some big (dead or dying) trees while we were here, so that was a bummer. They are doing their best to save the trees. They have a nice laundry room, $2.00 per machine. Free coffee and hot chocolate (my husband LOVES the hot chocolate). Not much room to park by the laundry in back. I suppose you could go around to the front of the building. Community is gated which adds to security. I would like to see some picnic tables but there isn’t really room for one by the camper. Otherwise nice sites. We are by the trees. We are staying here for about six weeks and so far they have been...
Read moreMy husband and I recently stayed at Willis Hillside RV Resort for a week. We enjoyed the facilities which are clean and well maintained by caring owners and staff. It is obvious they are passionate about providing an environment that made us feel relaxed, away from the hustle & bustle of the city but minutes from plenty of shopping and things to do.
This resort is surrounded by nature, with plenty of trees on both side and in the back.
There are both tree shaded as well as open sites, all level concrete pads, along with a large pond with a huge fountain in the center.
We enjoyed one of the 2 huge fire-pits surrounded by seating to socialize and create new memories.
All of the facilities are clean & new, including restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities, along with a coffee station.
We plan to visit again soon and look forward to enjoying time in the pool & jacuzzi that are...
