Budget Inn — Hotel in Willits

Do not waste your money or time to stay here. I am writing this review from my car at 3:00 am in the Budget Inn parking lot. The room smells awful - cigarettes and urine. And my dog started itching immediately when we when into the room due to fleas.

I threw away the shirt I was wearing because it was permeated with the smell of cigarettes. I feel physically ill and will get my pet deposit and be in my way.

On top of everything else, the entire property was unkept , unsafe and rundown. I never find the need to write reviews, but this place is a mess.

Simply said, stay away from this Budget Inn. I didn’t have a choice as I was traveling unexpectedly due to a family situation and was unable to secure a hotel before traveling. Big mistake on my behalf - never again!

The place doesn’t even deserve one star, but thought it wouldn’t post if I left it blank. Gosh I feel sick - absolute horrible experience.

I had driven from Fort Bragg with my son and arrived at the Budget Inn to find a sign in the window that said "We are here, ring the bell". There are two bells outside the door so I pushed one. Nobody came. I rang the second bell. Nobody came. I push both again, but again, nobody came. My son saw a guy with a vacuum cleaner so he went to talk to him. He was the housekeeper and said the owner went to a doctors appointment and should be back in 15 minutes. I had made the appointment with a woman but she wasn't there either. We waited but the owner didn't come back. We decided to drive through town to see what our eating options were but that took a total of about five minutes to get back to the parking lot. While driving I saw a lady walking in a velour sweatsuit and I joked that it was the owners wife and she was out shopping. Guess what? It WAS the wife out shopping. They left nobody at the hotel to check guests in or take care of them if there was a problem. We had to wait for 45 minutes for either of them to show up and check us in! The beds were not great and there were stains on the carpet. I didn't see anyone when we checked out either so I left the key in the slot by the door. I can't...

This was not a planned stay; the electric car and I both ran out of juice sooner than I expected. There is a big bank of chargers within walking distance. The room is clean, quiet, bigger than average. The heater works quickly (loud but white noise loud). Water gets and stays hot, good pressure. The folx running it are kind and easy going. Rates are great. I checked in at 10pm, exhausted and frazzled- my partner found this place for me and booked it from home because there is no (or very poor) cell service between eureka and here.
