Hello my name is Kathy Morris. I stayed at the Best western in wills point on April3-4. I had two rooms booked through Expedia from my sisters credit card as a hold only. They were booked as a pay in person account. Upon arriving at the hotel on Saturday we tried to pay in person but the you f Austin, stated since it was booked online he couldn’t accept another form of payment. So I called my sister and she said ok I could just pay her back once I received a receipt. Austin stated he didn’t have a receipt to give and that it would be emailed instead. At the time that sounded logical. We were given both sets of room keys and we head to settle in. At this time Upon arriving in, both of our rooms had major issues. The first being the room I had booked for our adult children had not been cleaned at all !!! Towels and sheets were about the room. It took 45 minutes to have someone come do a quick clean while we waited. The second issue, my room had the AC go out within the first thirty min . We called the front desk and Austin feted to come up and look at it. Most important because we have a baby. After a short while another room was offered which was about 20 dollars more we were told , but not charged the upgrade. He said the Ac wasn’t repairable ; Room 304 was then offered.Third issue, I had another family member arrive ( which I had referred) and her room which was also not clean !!! she had to wait an additional 45 minutes for hers to be cleaned while sitting in my kids room 🤦🏻♀️ Absolutely ridiculous at this point. Anyhow, fast forward two hours later we got a call from the front desk that our credit card on file didn’t work. So my husband heads down to front desk and Austin runs his credit card. But then he is told only one ☝️ room went through. To my husband’s bewilderment, he comes back upstairs to get my credit card. It is processed for the second room. Assuming everything is ok
Now here’s were things geteven worse . We realize by morn the elevators are out. coffee pot is out here we are trying to carry a baby three flightsdown to breakfast. And at this time we realize check out has become even more of a fiasco as everyone climbs three flights of stairs to leave with luggage and a bad taste in their mouth
As we are departing the hotel, Heather ( claims to be a GM) asks me to check out with her. We were going to just head out as we had left our door cards inside the room as usual. However she wanted to make sure all the charges were right. Extremely tired of all this but eager to leave I accommodate her with ur room numbers. She explained that all the charges have now been placed on my husbands credit card and the bogus two would be returned the following Monday. So Monday , comes and goes and nothing I call Tuesday. heather claims she has no idea what has happened and will have to get back with me. She said because she ran more than one card for 4 rooms instead of two it will show pending but charge back and put the funds back in my account. The next day Wednesday I hear nothing , nothing for the remainder of the week in fact. So then my husband calls and got the same run around same excuses as to why it happened. Speeding forward to this now going into the second week. I finally reach Heather who has now decided it’s Expedia’s fault. An I should seek them for my billed roomed stays. So I spent this morning 1 hour 58 min to be exact on the phone with Expedia who explained that it was a customer pay account and was paid at the hotel and never had they had my card info. Which is correct. She was professional and went out of her way to assist me on three way calling Best Western tospeak with Heather. She explained this tohow the process took place. Heather was rude and hung up on her ( not aware ) I was on a merged three way call. as furious as I am I call Heather back and ask for corporate phone numbers.they were refused. Time to seek legal action!!!! Scammed and robbed of Easter...
Read moreWe were visiting folks in Canton but rooms there were booked for Easter weekend so we extended the range of our search and this place showed great reviews. It's always a matter of perspective so I was still worried the number of reviews was not high and the options in the area were very limited, but for the price it was well worth a shot. I'll say that the place didn't disappoint. From a call we had to make because of delays on our arrival, having Seth being friendly and helpful over the phone, to the fact the property feels brand new and it is in a nice location, I do think this place deserves the reviews it's received.
We got a first floor room (107), and actually probably the closest to the front desk so I worried about the noise. It was a quiet and peaceful night. In the morning, around 7am, I could hear some voices from the front desk while in the bathroom, which is close to the room door. It was kids being playful, but it was not too bad once I got back to the bed area. The noise came and went as families came down for breakfast and/or visited the front desk, but it was not any worse than hearing the occasional door slam you will always hear in the hotel hallways, and which occurred once or twice here.
The room was excellent, great size, clean and new, and everything worked well in the room, except maybe the phone, which was old school, had a flashing red light and when I dialed the "messages" button, announced the box was not setup. But we did not expect calls in the room, since we had our cells.
The breakfast included eggs and bacon, a waffle maker, some cereals, granola, yogurt, milk and juice in cardboard mini packs, and coffee (keurig and coffee machine). We missed out on the eggs because when I first came out around 9am and saw them, I thought breakfast must be till 10, so went for a run and when I came back, eggs were gone and when I asked I was told breakfast is only to 9am. The nice thing is that they did not clear everything right at 9 sharp, like I've seen in many other places, rather they left things run out for another 30+ minutes, so I got some granola, some bacon, a muffin and some milk closer to 10am.
Oh, and there is a train track within the view from the window, but although I did hear the train once or twice, the sound was very faint so the sound insulation to the outside...
Read moreI am in Best western very frequently. I have stayed at this one a few times. This is less than 5 years old so I had high expectations. I made my reservations ahead of time using my points because I am a diamond select member. We arrived at 1am in the morning (10 hours beyond first available check in time). When we got into our room we experienced the following issues: No towels 1/2 used bar of soap in the shower Shower was dirty Bathroom was dirty
We didn’t go down and say anything because we were so tired. Upon checking out, I brought all this to the attention of the attendant because I wanted an explanation and at least my points refunded. When I told him everything, his response was “at least you got it for free”. FIRST OF ALL-it is not free because I EARNED those points by giving this corporation all my business (and I’m in them at least two weeks out of the month for business). After receiving this kind of customer service, I plan to look into other branches that value their top tier customers at a minimum. I would suggest you avoid this hotel as I will in the future. I will drive an hour more just to avoid this terrible establishment. So if you’re coming for first Monday, stay in Forney or Dallas before coming here and save yourself...
