Our two-night stay at the Inn at Sunset Mill Ranch could not have been better. First, it was easy to get to after leaving from work in San Antonio (except of course traffic out of SA). The property is secluded but only about a 15-minute drive from Wimberley, so it was easy to get to restaurants and nearby wineries. We stayed in the tack room in the Carriage House. Everything was decorated beautifully (Texana but not too much), and our room was super clean and smelled so nice and had a large bathroom (great water pressure). The grounds are lovely, and it's very quiet; the sunsets from our balcony were gorgeous (we made sure to be back for the sunsets). The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful; Diane is a great cook. She has a set menu, but she offered to cook our eggs to order if we wanted. She also sets out cookies and brownies (yum) and other goodies in the evening (self serve), and coffee and water was always available. There was a small room off our room with a fridge, water, and a coffeemaker as well. We also went into Dripping Springs to visit some breweries, which was an easy 30 minute drive. ||||We stayed in the Winter Mills cabin, which we loved, as we had the privacy of our own stand alone place but still had all the great benefits of a B&B. The views from the porch of the cabin (or really anywhere on the property) were amazing - we watched the sunset every night from either the front porch swing or our private jacuzzi on the side of the cabin. There are also 3 ductless AC units in the the cabin, which was really nice to be able to control the temperature both upstairs and downstairs. The cabin was great for a couple but would also be good if families want to visit, as there is a great loft with 2 beds and a half bath (although you do have to climb a steep spiral staircase to access so it might be more feasible for older children). ||||The owners truly thought of everything - from sun shades on the porch to extra towels and blankets, the hospitality and service was excellent.
