This review is for the RV park only, not the condos. The pictures on line do not tell the story of what this place really looks like. Upon arrival, you are met with old rundown looking buildings. Can't imagine last time any of them saw a paint brush. Directional signs inside the park are in poor repair, rotted posts, missing sign boards, etc. Most of the roads are gravel and what is paved is full of pot holes. Overall the roads were rough. It rained a few times while we were there which caused some minor road erosion. It was several days before road repairs were made. Lots of trees which was nice but they were not well trimmed. Many were low hanging and made it impossible to get in and out of some of the back in spaces without making contact with your rig. There is no cable TV and the presence of all the trees made it challenging to acquire a satellite TV signal. Wifi was a joke. I had to go outside and sit at the picnic table to get their wifi signal. They advertise an on site cafe. The building is there but no food service. Laundry room is a bigger joke than the wifi. Four washers and four dryers. We were there for about 6 weeks and never were all the washers and dryers were working at the same time. Most of the time only two washers were working and sometimes only one dryer and it wasn't working well. We were told the park owners said it was a pain in the backside to maintain the laundry facilities and they were thinking of removing laundry service all together. Who runs an rv park aimed at extended stay without a laundry?? They have an exercise room full of equipment but you can't use it unless you join their park for $1600/year. If you are not going to join the park, forget using the exercise equipment. They won't even let you use it if you offer to pay them. They are not very particular about people keeping their sites in order. Some folks moved in next door to us shortly before we left and within a few days, their site looked like the Beverly Hillbillies shack. One site had a clothes line strung up between two trees. The park has on site rv storage. Looked like some of the rigs were parked there for many years without any maintenance on them. Kind of helter skelter parking. Grass is not cut on a regular basis. Office staff was pleasant enough.||||Over all our stay here was just plain disappointing because this park could be so much more. We expected more from a place advertising itself as a resort.||||On the positive side, the deer are...
Read moreVery nice. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon to a gated RV park, Lake Pointe Resort, located on the shore of Canyon Lake, in Texas. It is a gated community. The office was closed, so we called the off hours number. We were met by a volunteer security officer who lives onsite. He helped us get situated and set up right away. It was $55 an night plus tax, and then you pay for your electricity use when you leave. The area has laundry, ping pong, pools, volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, bean bag toss, hiking, and boating activities. Deer are abundant in the area. Purchase deer feed at the main office. The resort is a short distance to the local area supermarket, gas stations, and restaurants. The staff were all very welcoming, as were our neighboring campers. Not a party zone, for which we were very thankful. A great spot for families. Speed limit is no more than 10 mph to avoid spreading of dust, and kids. A large playground with swing set and a fort. The RV spots are pretty spread out with both 30 and 50 amp plug ins. Each site has a picnic table and is level for back ins, and also has pull thrus available. Water hookups at each site as well. The sites are level and well maintained. Trees throughout. The restrooms near the office are well maintained with full showers available. Near the back of the park is an outhouse, if you don't want to dump your black water later at the dumping station, it is available for use. You can purchase a membership to use the resort on a more regular basis, or reserve a spot to plan ahead. You can reserve up to 6 months ahead. This resort primarily does everything online for ease. They also allow for storing your...
Read moreNot a place I would recommend for families at all. All other RV campsites I have been to do a much better job of making families feel welcomed and appreciated. They definitely cater to an older population at Lakepoint.
My family got kicked out of the recreation hall in a very rude way because my 7 year old son might mess up their pool table (I was in the hall with my kids while it rained and trying to keep them entertained. We were being very respectful and appropriate with their property). No common sense or discretion was used on their part when talking to me about it despite the response they will give below after my review.
Lakepoint will also try to say that they nicely explained that there was a kid's pool table somewhere which may be completely true. BUT when I was approached by staff about the incident ther FIRST thing out of her mouth wad "Did you see the sign?" (they have a sign that says 21 and up up on one wall) Now, that to me doesn't invite conversation and especially a conversation that I want to be in so I left telling the staff I would never be back and I was leaving a bad review so here I am with my 2nd bad review because they lied in their response to the first one. To Lakepoint RV I say it is your business you can run it how you want but a smile from your staff members with a "Hey ma'am, Can I show you the kids table we have right around the corner here?" would have gone a long way. Instead you got some lengthy and bad reviews from me and my husband.
If you have small children.....find...
