We held my daughters wedding there just a few weeks ago, like others have stated the venue is absolutely breathtaking; however, the management (Pam) is terrible to work with, extremely unprofessional, disrespectful to the bride & groom, harassing the bride with nonsense when she could have left the bride alone to enjoy being freshly married. When my daughter & son in law went to book the venue Pam was laid back, nice & welcoming; however, that changed once she received our money. Upon arrival not once did Pam come to greet us, make sure we got into the accommodation or to ensure we knew where to place all the food to be stored over night etc. The venue is in the middle of nowhere out in the hill county, yet the venue does not have a means for you to access ice, if you need ice you most drive down into Wimberly to get some, as you can imagine in the Texas heat the ice didn’t last long and melted in its way back to the venue. The day of the wedding there was a lady hanging around the reception, not once did she introduce herself to me , the brides mom, the one paying the bill. The next day I found out the lady was Pam’s daughter, at the end of the reception the daughter was helping me pic of trash, I asked if I needed to recycle some bottles she said, no it wasn’t a big deal- myself and the wedding coordinator asked her multiple times if it was ok to leave the tables and chairs out and pick them up in the morning, she said no problem. We asked her if there was anything else we needed to do before calling it a night & she said no we were good- she also stated “you don’t have to have the reception area cleaned up by 11am, just need to be out of the rooms by 11 for housekeeping & that we could clean the reception area throughout the day.” The next morning my daughter and the coordinator began receiving RUDEmessages from Pam, scolding us for not picking up the tables, claiming we were lucky they did not receive any damage from the dew, telling us there is a checklist sheet we were supposed to fall but HER daughter failed to give it to us, she also had the nerve to say we needed to SORT THE TRASH 🤨 I’m sorry but if that was something you wanted done you should have let it be known PRIOR to booking that we would need to be very specific on where to throw things away. Extremely disappointing! I can’t deny it’s breathtaking & my daughter will have beautiful pictures;however, I would never recommend the place, it is quite costly, and I will caution all those I know getting married in the future to not be deceived by this...
Read moreI'm a seasoned wedding planner specializing in ranch weddings for unique couples that are looking for a special place to host their wedding weekends in the TX Hill Co. Montesino Ranch is always our first referral for venues to our couples for a number of reasons. First it's a beautiful property that's been taken care of not only by the family who owns and visits it often but also by Pam and her staff who are amazing to work with! It's also a working organic farm where you can dine under the stars, in the garden, the barn or pavilion. If you plan ahead, your caterer can utilize crops grown just for your event by the farmer - very cool! And did I mention the fresh farm eggs, firepits, kayaks and river chairs all available for your use. ||There are multiple locations to host various events onsite, the river runs through with a wonderful spot for swimming or getting married! The view from the overlook is spectacular and a really special spot to look over the entire property including where the guests will dine and dance later in the evening. Plus there's ample lodging, a glamping partner nearby and multiple Airbnb's along Flite Acres. Pam even has a private driver service to assist with family members staying offsite. ||We've had several events in the past and have several scheduled for the Fall and Spring seasons. Since it's so diverse and the couples often buy out the property for the weekend, we try create a flow that utilizes the entire place hosting rehearsal dinner, bridal luncheon, wedding and farewell brunch - all in different spots with totally unique and different vibes. ||The property can be a little bit logistically challenging if you aren't used to planning in more rural settings so be sure to hire a good planner who can navigate this. With Pam's honest and straightforward guidance you'll have an amazing experience! By the way, to those who left negative reviews on her behalf, I would just say to look closely at their complaints and know that quite certainly every detail that was complained about was covered in advance by Pam - she's a pro and I rely on her tremendously in our events. Book your event now, you'll be so...
Read moreOn Saturday, our first child, our baby girl, only daughter, recent graduate from TXST, married the most wonderful young man in the most stunning setting at Montesino Ranch on Saturday, April 26, 2025. It was a small gathering of 115 guests, consisting of immediate family, a few friends that are like family, a bunch of their college friends, and church community from Cypress Creek Church, Wimberley. It was a DIY wedding at its finest, where we were lucky enough to be able to rent out the entire ranch so we didn't have to rush and were all able to stay together.
It was all about Jesus on the mountain top overlooking the valley where they said their vows in front of the cross her Dad made. Then it was a gorgeous meal served family style on the lawn amongst green fields with wild flowers and twinkle lights, followed by hours and hours of dancing and laughing in the rustic barn on the Ranch while guests relaxed around the bar and fire pit. It was special & exactly what Libby & Justin wanted --- An elegantly laid-back meaningful ceremony, then a party where they didn't have to meet anyone for the first time and could simply relax and not be on display. They wanted a joyful party, and they got it!
I have to admit that I was a little overwhelmed by the venue when we first visited as it has many elements and I was planning it from College Station. My advice is to trust Pam's expertise from past events, hire the right team to implement your vision, and think of it as an experience unlike other weddings. It was perfect, absolutely extraordinary, and so so so much fun for guests. Montesino Ranch is a magnificently relaxing and serene place to have a wedding, where you can see God's handiwork all around you. I heard someone say that this was the only wedding they'd ever been to where the line to sign the Bible was longer than the line for the bar. ❤️
I can not wait to see the professional...
