All my life I had dreamed of having an outdoor wedding and from our first visit out to The Cedars Ranch walking and talking with Marilyn about the amenities available, Austin Eastciders in hand, we knew this was the venue we had been looking for. The outdoor ceremony area facing west to capture the sunset and surrounded by Oak trees to the plaza crowned with twinkle lights came together beautifully and laid the perfect picturesque background as the setting for our wedding. The Great Hall adjacent to the plaza was a great peace of mind in case the weather decided to not cooperate and was designed to be open-air which was a huge plus in wanting to have our wedding outdoors, but could also be converted to be insulated should the it start to get cold. Getting ready with my bridesmaids in the yurt on property was the perfect, calm setting to start the day off that I needed to get me in a relaxed head space. The yurt was chic yet rustic and had everything we needed to get ready, including the bluetooth speaker to stream our wedding playlist to get us pumped while we got our hair and makeup done. Bill and Marilyn have put so much thought and effort into the Cedars Ranch and it absolutely shows. Our guests enjoyed being able to spread out over the property to make s'mores over the firepit and though we didn't get to make use of the gazebo space due to the wind that evening, we had planned to hang up a large frame for guests to take pictures in. We hired Torchy's Taco Truck which unbeknownst to us is the largest food truck in the country but the space they had allotted for food trucks (including plug-in availability) was plenty big enough even for it! Dancing to our first song under the twinkle lights surrounded by our family and friends and under the immense Texas night sky will be a memory that I cherish forever. I cannot say enough good things about having your wedding at The Cedars Ranch and will highly recommend it to anyone that is looking for a wedding venue. Thank you Bill and Marilyn for providing a setting that made our wedding everything I had ever dreamed...
Read moreI cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. Our group of 180 friends, along with their kids, gathered at this beautiful ranch for a long weekend to witness the eclipse, and we were lucky enough to be the first to enjoy the new accommodations. Just an hour drive from Austin airport, the scenic hill country landscape felt like something out of a fairytale.
Our cabin was perfect for our group, with two comfortable rooms and a loft that accommodated additional guests. The design was smart and efficient, with all the amenities we needed including a large TV, fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. The bedding was cozy and the blackout blinds made for a great night's sleep. The AC works perfectly by the way!
The shower was a dream, and the complimentary toiletries were a nice touch. A friend invited me to their Yurt and I was amazed by the creative and enchanting design. Attention to detail was evident throughout the property, making our stay seamless and enjoyable.
There were plenty of activities to keep us entertained, from pickleball to bocce ball to giant Jenga. The pool area was fantastic, with a shallow end for lounging and plenty of shade. The two barns on the property were versatile spaces, perfect for events like weddings. The main hall had all the essentials, including an oven, and we even cooked some pizzas there.
The owner was incredibly gracious, and we felt so fortunate to celebrate our friendships and the eclipse in such a special place. Everything we needed was right at our fingertips, curated with care, creativity, and love. I can't wait to return to this wonderful ranch. Highly...
Read moreBEWARE We stayed at this place in June and arrived late at night. Once we unpacked the car, we went to bed only to find dirty sheets with animal hair on them - in ALL of the beds. Nobody will answer your texts, emails or phone calls after hours if you have a problem. Luckily we had towels to use for bedding.
The next day we were promised a clean cabin and a night's refund. It is 9/17/24 and we still haven't received a refund. I email often. Before I kept getting excuses, but now they don't even reply.
The Cedars Ranch tells me they issued a refund, but they will NOT email me proof. They tell me to contact Hotels.com to process the refund. I did contact Hotels.com. They have no record of the refund. They even tried calling the ranch on my behalf, but got ignored by The Cedars Ranch as well.
Don't count on them keeping their word... if you encounter a problem. There is no way of contacting a real human. I've tried all of the phone numbers on their parent company's website. VM is King with these people.
You can read my review on Hotels.com - on the fence. I wish I could edit that review because it is too positive. I gave them the benefit of a...
