The Lodge At Turkey Cove — Hotel in Wimberley

We really enjoyed our stay at the Turkey Cove. It was very clean, easy access to the lake and the Boat Ramp is very convenient, and so it's the Boat Parking. Our room bed was comfortable and bathrooms were cleaned. We had reserved the Family size Just Right but I didnt realize the room was upstairs. We had my mother in law with us and stairs are not easy for her anymore. John was very kind and solve our situation by re-accommodated us to where mom was on the bottom floor. Very courteous and easy communicating with. The drive to the property is very pretty. The Lodge is located high up so you get a nice view at night and of the lake during the day. At night the skies were so beautiful we were able to take some really good pictures. They are on my phone otherwise I would attach them here. Maybe I can edit my post later and attach the photos. The moon was so clear and visible from the property it was very conducive to photos. All and all we will be using this property when we come back. Very clean, comfortable bed, and ease access to the lake and boat. We enjoyed our stay and want to say; Thank you John for helping us with mom. I have no idea why this place has so many stars. Maybe these people stayed in a different part of the motel? Our room was horrible. I realize it's a lodge, not a 4 star hotel, but then charge me lodge prices. I was charged $200 a night for what would have been equivalent to a $49.99 Roadway Inn on the side of a freeway. The shower was 2.5'x3', so if you like cruise ship showers, this place is for you. The wi-fi is basically nonexistent. We drew straws to decide who would turn on the kitchen light because it would shock you. Every. Single. Time. The lights had two settings. The about to perform surgery overhead light, or the mini clip on desk lamp from Target. That's it. Those were your choices. The plastic mattress protectors under the sheets not only alarmed your conscience as to why they were there, but everyone else in the room that you were turning over in bed. How old do you think a mattress has to be to get to the point that it feels like a concave sheet of plywood? All that aside, the warm welcome in the morning from the two ginormous roach like beetles in the bathroom was particularly charming. Not enough to bring us...

When we arrived the office was closed. We arrived just after 3:00pm to check in. A note was left to call the main number and it took three times to get anyone to answer. They left a key in their key return. The room need dating for the cost they charge. Window air unit took long to cool the room. We were trying to get ready for a wedding and built up a sweat just doing this. The lighting could be better too. The next morning before check-out we were packing and while i shower noticed the water not draining so I flip the drain switch but it did not work. It was broken and loose. When i tried to turn the water off, it took some time because the faucets was not turning the water off. I was in panic thinking the tub would fill and start overflowing. Fortunately i finally got them turned off but not with tub draining. So we had to leave it as is. The property seem decent but disappointed the office was closed and the room was dated. Parking was horrible too so not sure i would recommend unless you want to be right on the lake. Maybe a younger couple would...
