I stayed at the Americas Best Value Inn in Winona, MS from Friday, July 7 until Sunday, July 9, 2023, in room 217. I saw a bed bug on the sink while I was shaving Saturday morning. I thought initially that it was a brown tick, since I have seen a tick before. However, I have never seen a bed bug until then; I tried to kill it still thinking that it was a tick. I washed it down the sink. After I took a shower, I notice a couple of red marks; one on my stomach and the other on my inner thighs. Still thinking that what I saw was a tick, I went about my day that Saturday.||||When I woke up to leave Sunday morning from the hotel, I had more red marks on both of my inner thighs, legs, foot and on my back. When I got back home, I took a shower and showed my wife, who's a nurse. She immediately said that those are bedbugs bites and showed me a picture of a bed bug. I told her that this is what I saw thinking it was a tick.||||I called Americas Best Value on Monday, July 10 and ask the speak the manager about an issue at the motel. The lady said that I could speak to her about it, so I told her that I stayed in room 217 over the weekend and there are bed bugs in that room, and I wanted you all to know. She basically blew me off and said that people have stayed in that room and haven’t had in issue. I told her that I saw a bed bug; however, I assumed it was a tick and I have bite marks on both of my inner thighs, back of my legs, on my stomach and back. She was silent for a little bit and then reluctantly said that she would check it out. And that was basically the end of the conversation. My first time staying at that motel was on May 21, 2023, after someone told me that it was decent motel. ||||However, I have learned my lesson and will stick to the brand name quality hotels. I just wanted to WARN the next person. After researching bed bugs, they are hard to get rid of and they can spread to other rooms. I hope this hotel takes the necessary measures to clean this room and check...
Read moreI had booked a smoking room on the ground floor as I am disabled. Upon arrival, we were told that there were no smoking rooms available on the ground floor. There is no elevator, so stairs were our only option. It was very, very difficult to get into and out of the room, as I could not do stairs very well. Carrying anything like luggage, a cup of coffee or shopping bags, while navigating stairs is a problem when needing a cane to walk. Once we got into our room, I could not leave again until the next day because I cannot do stairs easily and without a great deal of pain. I was not able to go to the office in the morning to get coffee, and we were only given one packet of coffee for the coffee maker in the room. I could not go to the office to request more either. Fortunately, there's a mcdonald's across the street, so I was able to get coffee when we left the hotel. Just no coffee when you first get up in the morning. That was miserable. The beds were comfy, and the towels were nice and soft. We did have an issue with the shower. As half the water would go down the spout and the other half came out of the shower nozzle. So the pressure wasn't that great for taking a shower. Overall, though, it was okay. The location was convenient as it's right on the highway. Our room was cleaned while we were out, leaving fresh towels and 1 packet of coffee. Check-in was easy. I'm not sure about checkout, as we left at 3am to leave for the airport. We stayed 3 nights. I would stay again. It is very quiet and seems safe. I would need to have a ground floor...
Read moreWorst experience with a hotel ever. I was first miss lead on the room I was getting as for as its features, when I tried to correct the issue in order to get the right room, witch was available, and in witch I was willing to pay to difference in, staff was not competent enough to comprehend nor understand such a simple task of upgrading a room that they said was available. Instead they wanted to charge me for the room they miss lead me on for 3 nights as well as the upgraded room. I will be going to corporate with this one for they not only lost a valued costermer but cost the company over a...
