I took my two grandsons, ages 4 and 5 to this campground for the weekend. It proved to work well for the little guys. The playground was just what I needed to keep them occupied while I was setting up camp. There is a great catch and release fishing pond, loaded with pond moss, but it doesn't seem to affect the fish from biting.. We caught bluegill, catfish and bass all on nightcrawlers. The pool is beautiful and clean, and we really enjoyed that! The miniature golf course has seen its better days and I don't believe it was even open. Quiet, peaceful nights, respectful campers of all ages.. Firewood for sale on site was reasonably priced. The owners are very kind and courteous and will help you if you need help with anything. Wooded setting, only 3 miles back to town in case you forgot something. For a small family ran campground, these owners have it going on... We really enjoyed our stay, and we will return. I have been a seasonal camper at a different campground for a few years and decided to sell and buy something so I could go wherever I like. This was the first campground I tried out, on my own with my grandsons and it proved itself to be almost perfect! I am in the process of renovating a 1970 Shasta and they allowed me in. Some campgrounds frown on anything older than 20 years, so I had to submit pictures to show what I would be bringing. Reasonably priced, but the only thing I thought was wonky, was the check-n and check-out times. Check-in is at 4:00pm and Check-out is at 11:00. Early check-in is available for $10 more, but it only moves it to a 2:00 pm check-in. To me, 2 hours, is 2 hours and I paid the extra $10. I figured, if I waited until 4:00 pm, by the time I set up camp, it would be time for supper and then bedtime for the boys. The extra 2 hours helped me to be able to spend time with the boys. If staying, it proves to be beneficial to stay more than one night, unless it is just a need to stop basis.. Enjoy what they have to offer, Camping, Fishing, Swimming, Basketball, Playground, Pool Table, Clean showers/restrooms, full water, and electric hook-ups, or just a peaceful perfect...
Read moreMy family has been coming to this campground for the past 5-6 years. We tried it the first time without knowing much about the campground and the owners welcomed us and made us feel comfortable. The first year there was 25 of us (extended families) and they accommodated us nicely. We tent camp but like the water/electric sites. They gave us a site big enough for all our tents plus we had space for a "kitchen" tent and room to play bag board games. Our family ranged in age at the time from ages 4-67 (now ages 10-73) and everyone was able to have a great time. The bathrooms are modern with showers and are pretty close to the sites. They have a playground for the kids, and in ground pool for which they charge $1 a day which i think is reasonable along with miniature golf (which they charge extra i believe but Im not sure what the rates are). They sell firewood as well as some food/snacks in the rec building. Also in the rec building they have pool, ping pong, and Foosball. The also have a pond for fishing. Plus the campground is only 15-20 minutes away from Indiana Beach Amusement Park and Lake Monticello. Plus the campground is only 15-20 minutes away from Indiana Beach Amusement Park and Lake Monticello. Their camping rates are really reasonable which is one of the reason we continue to come back every year but also because the owners have always been friendly and warm. Our families look forward to our annual camping trip and would highly recommend this campground to...
Read moreMy family has lived in this community for over 40 years and the previous owners of this campground were classy upstanding respectable citizens of our community. I don't know where the current owners came from, but they have no care for customer service. I came to Dream Acres to share an evening dinner with my parents who were camping there. We had just pulled into the entrance of the campground and straight ahead on the end lot I spotted my parents campsite. We pulled right in next to where my parents vehicle was and parked next to it. Shortly after, my sister arrived also and the owner with beer in hand approached with not even a welcome or a hello, but instantly began acousting us for not following the one way all the way around the entire campground, when my parents campsite was right there on the end. I have never seen such rudeness and will NEVER return, not EVER. I wouldn't have even given this place one star, but it wouldn't let me write a...
