PART 1 READ YOUR REVIEWS!!! THEY ARE REAL!!!! I hate to even have to write this review.. We have been coming to happy holiday rv village for almost 5 years now.. When we first vacation in Sept 2020 it was the friendliest, family orientated campground we ever been at. Remind you it was first time we ever went tent camping and fell we love with it.. we have invited our friends and family throughout the years. We started coming 3 times out of the year. (April, June/July and then in August for the fishing tournament each year.) Well, we came up in April 2025 and noticed it was under new management.. They weren't friendly, inviting or willing to help out with anything.. A huge change from Amy and Angel.. who always made it safe, inviting and fun for the kids. The bathhouses were nasty, half the time they were closed, and you had to ride or walk around to find one open. Then when we found one, the water was cold. Even flushing the toilet didn't help at all. Cold showers in April surly wasn't fun!!!!! So, we had already booked our trip for the fishing tournament from July 31st , 2025 - August 3rd , 2025 (back in SEPT 2024) a friend of mine said (who has been coming since he was a kid) "have you read their reviews recently?" I was like no.. Well, I started reading about the bed bugs, no game room and the rude staff that we had already experienced in April 2025. I decided to call Happy RV Village at the beginning of July to speak with them about the reviews.. The lady Becky told me to please not believe the reviews; it was previous employees writing them and it was all false... That the games would be back in the game room in a couple weeks. So, I decided against my better judgment to pay my remaining balance. On July 30th, 2025, I receive a confirmation for us to check in with the gate code. I noticed they had changed my site.. We always book multiple sites because our friends and family come camp too. We were no longer beside our friends. When I saw this, I called immediately.. The lady answered and I explained the situation and she was irritated that I had a problem.. she said the spot I paid for turned into a worker spot now.. Which never in pass was, because we stayed at that exact same spot the same time the year before (2024)!!!! I told her I was confused why they just didn't call and speak with me about it so we could work it out?!?!? I felt so disrespected and unappreciated... She then told me she couldn't help me or move me; I would have to call back in the morning (the day we were to arrive) to speak with someone who could. So, I called on July 31st, 2025, and no one had been made aware of my situation or cared that we were moved without being told. Then told us they would figure it out and call us back later. 2 hours later, basically an hour before we arrived, they finally had got us moved. We arrived and got set up, but we kept noticing the bath houses were closed.. for cleaning or repairs?!?! Where one side would be open and the other closed.. And then when we went in afterwards, they weren't clean. The next day we decided to rent a golf cart for two days. (Came out to be 180$) As soon as we got it, we literally drove to the top, drop the kids in the creek, they floated down to the bridge and then we went to the bathhouse with the basketball hoop and the golf cart died on us, two workers came by and was willing to help because we was right beside the golf shop as well. When they radio it in, the front office wanted us to walk up there, reminded you its 88 degrees I have baby (2-years-old) almost asleep and now upset because we are not moving. Now the workers felt sympathy, but they didn't want to get in trouble for just switching the cart. So, another worker came by, and I explained the situation to him, and he then radioed the front and gave me one and told me to go to the front to have the checklist done. When I went to the front, I explained why I was there and then they told me to go ahead, it was fine.. FIND ME ON FACEBOOK TO READ THE REST OF THE SITIUATION. POSTING A REVIEW ON...

I’ve agonized about posting this review for a long time, but after seeing other negative experiences (including reports of bedbugs) I felt compelled to share ours. We’ve vacationed at Happy Holiday for years—since I was a kid coming with my parents and grandparents, and now I bring my own children. We’ve had a lot of great vacations here in the past.
It breaks my heart to see what’s happened to the place in such a short time. We were there over Memorial Day weekend, and it didn’t even feel like the same campground. The staff were noticeably unfriendly. When we passed workers and smiled or waved, we were met mostly with blank stares or silence. That’s never happened before. In the past, staff were always warm and welcoming. We used to spend hours chatting with the returning seasonal employees. This time, none of them were familiar, and the whole vibe was different—cold, distant, and sometimes rude.
The most disappointing part was finding out the arcade is completely gone. In recent years it was the best game room in town with all the old favorites: retro arcade games, prize games, old fashioned gum, candy sticker, and temp tattoo dispensers. There were even pinball and air hockey tournaments. We had a blast and met a lot of wonderful people there. The family that owned the games and ran the arcade were so friendly. One time one of them saw my daughter trying (and failing) several times to win a stuffed animal. He opened the machine and told her to choose whichever one she wanted—it made her whole weekend. We’d saved quarters all winter, and the kids were so excited to go back. We were all heartbroken to find it was completely removed. I mean no game room at all. No arcade, no pool (it was shut down and green and black), no kids’ activities, and they don’t have cable TV anymore. When it rained, there was absolutely nothing to do. It would’ve been nice to have been told about those changes in advance.
The worst part of the weekend, though, was a serious plumbing issue. There was a wastewater leak that spread across the road and into nearby campsites, and it wasn’t addressed for two days. When it rained, all that waste was carried downhill through the campground. For two days no effort was made to cleanup it up or contain it. It was not a pretty sight, especially not knowing how far the contamination spread.
We’ve built great summer friendships with many of the long-term seasonal campers over the years. They’ve always been the heart of the campground—volunteering at events, running games, preparing food, helping with kids’ crafts, bingo nights, karaoke, and more. This year, most of them were gone. I don’t know what happened after all these years, but based on our experience this time, I can understand why they left. It just didn’t feel like the same place without them.
I hope the owners seriously consider all the feedback they’re getting. This used to be such a special, family-friendly place. I truly hope it can return to...
Read moreThis post is mainly for potential "workcampers," but anyone else is free to glean from this review.
My wife and I came to this location to Workcamp from April - November 2023. We previously met with campground managers and agreed to us having "2" days off together sometime during the month to be able to commute home. When we arrived, my wife was not on the list for workcampers, but they gave her a job. We then learned nearly all the previous workcampers were gone...they needed about 8-9 people. My supervisor (the one over maintenance) told me no one gets 15 min breaks because they "bull&%$$" and smoke for 30-45 minutes every morning in the store.....by the way, I don't smoke. We told them when we first met that we have dogs that need bathroom breaks, which we were told....not a problem.
He was rude the entire time I was there, no people skills, and told me a blanket schedule would be given and if that did not work for us, we had to work it out with each other. My wife's supervisor was awesome, but stated it would be tough to have us off at the same time. She was extremely professional. We learned she and another left a couple days after we did....good for her!!
The folks that are running this place did not tell us the laundary room is locked at 5pm during off season, which made it difficult for us to do our laundary.
When we first arrived, I was given a mudhole to park my RV...the previous person there was a workcamper that left right before we came...she had been fired. We were told she was an awesome employee by others there.
I attempted to resolve the scheduling, which led to me being asked to leave!
Bottomline....do not work for this campground. I was told the road thst runs behind the campgtound is being watched by law enforcement and people will scout out the campground from that road to see what they can steal.
As it always goes, if we would've known, we never would've come here.
The night we left, a powerful storm was coming with damaging winds 50-55 MPH. Management knew, but did not tell us about the storm. I overheard them talking and asked them. Then, I asked my supervisor about going around and warning campers / workcampers.....I was told "NO...they know." Well, a fellow workcamper told him he did not know until I said something and he went to his site to secure things. I disregarded this idiots remark and was only able to warn 2 campers who thanked me.
I am so glad we left....no sites are fit for workcampers, if it rains, you are in mud. They need new campground / maintenance managers. You are left guessing most of the time how things either work or what's next....poor management! The owners of that campground need to clean house, gravel every site and pave workcamper sites, get rid of the 2 liter bottles on several of the sewer hook-ups, put up cameras throughout the campground and stop smoking around co-workers....some of us want...
