Orchard Hill Bed & Breakfast — Hotel in Wood Heights

I can't say enough good things about Ted and his B&B. I knew as soon as I saw his beautiful place that I didn't want my wedding anywhere else. He was able to host my 125 guests with full catering service for the evening with plenty of room and customer care. My guests all say my wedding was a huge success, and that's due entirely to Ted. We rented his place for the whole weekend and the cost was very reasonable. On Saturday, hurricane force winds and torrential rains threatened to totally destroy the tent set up. Ted was out there in the thick of it, hanging on to the busted poles so it didn't fly away. With an hour to spare, the tent company brought a new tent and it was set up for the ceremony, just as blue skies appeared. All the guests commented on his gorgeously landscaped grounds, his tastefully decorated home, and the luxury of his guest rooms. Ted went above and beyond to make my event memorable - even lighting a (planned) bonfire for the kids so they could have s'mores at the reception. Ted was accessible, flexible and accommodating to the extreme. His breakfasts are pretty darn good too! My fiance (now husband) and I did a lot of research before choosing our wedding venue to be Orchard Hill Bed and Breakfast, and could not have been more pleased. Ted (the owner) is absolutely amazing and hospitable. By the time my party arrived on Thursday, he had already set up the tent and recently mowed the grounds (even though we've had a nasty string of storms lately). The wedding took place on Saturday and was absolutely amazing. Ted was there throughout the entire set up to make sure that nothing was needed, and did his best to accommodate all of our needs. Our wedding had only 40 guests, and the house could have easily held us all had we needed to host the event inside. The grounds were perfect! This was a PERFECT get a way, far from the madding crowd. The Estate itself was wonderful and the 80 surrounding acres was great. Host is very accommodating, the breakfast was VERY hearty and the entire experience is as it should be. The suites are very spacious and overlooks the vast acres. Walking paths, a pond and plenty of things to do without even leaving. We would recommend the Orchard Hill B and B to everybody.||It is only about 40 miles north of Kansas City.
