My mother, nephew and I came to stay for 5 days to visit family. We normally stay in chain hotels up here but decided to give this one a try as it was newly renovated and in the same little town as my grandmother. The first night, we weren't exactly pleased but we got in late and were tired and couldn't complain for the price. I ignored the fact that the first thing I saw was a drug deal while I was waiting outside the office for my mom to get the key. It was the service that really got us. ||The first morning we were outside and saw the maid coming around and handed her our trash and dirty wash cloths. My mother had hair dye in her hair so 10 minutes later (before the maid even finished her round) I receive a call telling us there was hair dye on our towels and we'd have to pay to replace them. Which would be fine if we had actually used their towels for dyeing, or even given them dirty towels. We gave them two wash cloths with makeup on them, and brought an old towel for her hair. ||The next day the maid came around earlier when I was still in bed and I answered the door and gave her my dirty towels and asked for 2 more. She asked about trash and I stated that it could wait until the next day. 30 min later we leave to have coffee with my grandmother. We were gone for about an hour. We return and there's a knock on the door, it's the lady from the office stating that the maid came in to replace towels and noticed a black spot on the shower curtain that "could be hair dye." I couldn't get a word in, but she was extremely rude about everything no matter how pleasant I was.||Note that the maid had already services my room, and waited until we were gone to go in. She also didn't replace any towels, just moved the two I had gotten from her earlier into the bathroom. She didn't make any beds or take out any trash, she just came in to be nosey. Cell service is spotty here, so my grandmother called the hotel to have them page our room, and when the lady in the office notified us, she was hateful about having to call our room and let us know. ||Other than the rude service, not all the channels on the tv come in, the ones that do are snowy. The remote control does not work, the wifi doesn't reach our room (111), the refrigerator freezes everything and has no temperature control to change it, there's no coffee pot, and most of the towels we have received are off white and thin. The bottom of the shower curtain is disgusting and covered in mold. Only two outlets are in working condition, and the air shuts off constantly and won't come back on so I wake up sweaty throughout the night. The sink doesn't drain, the lever to unplug the stopper doesn't work so you have to hold it up for the water to drain. ||I've stayed in small town motels before and never had nearly as many issues as I've had here, and we haven't been here 3 whole days yet. I didn't have high expectations for the place, but expected friendly service in such a small town motel, and a room in better condition considering the one we are in is supposed to have been "newly renovated"||I will never stay here again, and definitely wouldn't suggest it to anyone, no matter how...
Read moreMy husband and I were looking for a dog friendly motel with easy access to the dog show being held in Lake Elmo, MN. (This motel is 30 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the St. Paul area.) I called to make certain they were dog friendly, and to get permission for bringing our two Boxer dogs. The woman I spoke with on the phone was very friendly and welcoming. Although check-in is at the BP station, it was more efficient than most lobby based check-in procedures, and the young lady who helped me was super friendly and sweet. The room itself was very clean, with new carpeting and a new shower. It also had a refrigerator and microwave. The TV worked great, with a nice selection of channels. The water was hot, with wonderful water pressure. The beds were comfortable. Even though it was right off the interstate, it was quiet. Most importantly, there was plenty of green space for walking the dogs. They loved it. There are very few eating places in Woodville, but five minutes down the road are a variety of places to eat right off the interstate. I LOVE motels like this: Clean, comfortable, small, friendly, and perfect for dogs. We will definitely try to book the same room when we show in Lake...
Read moreThis motel is a gem in the middle of Wisconsin. Between bigger towns, but easily accessed at an interstate exit, the motel is clearly well loved and managed. The rooms are newly renovated from floor to ceiling and look fantastic. Donât be put off by the fact that you have to check in at the gas station next door. The process was not as sketchy as it sounds. The friendly young lady at the gas station ushered us to a separate window for hotel guests, with its own computer, and printed out a receipt and gave us our key. It was all very professional and legitimate. I appreciated the refrigerator in the room. The only complaint I have is that there are no curtains of any kind, only blinds, on the windows in the room. The motel is well lit outside, and that bright light makes the rooms quite bright throughout the night, with no way to darken the room. A simple fix for this would be to install blackout curtains on every window. For around $60 for a double room, this place is well worth the stop. If it werenât for the lack of blackout curtains (I have trouble getting to sleep in a room thatâs not very dark), we would make this a regular stop on our annual cross...
