Campground was very easy to find, however, there are easy and hard ways to get to the campground. I recommend Hwy 60 to 3 and then getting on Wally World Rd. Either way is single lane road, with some curves. The last mile or so gave me a pause when we started on it, but it ended up being ok. The office staff in this campground were very nice, but the man that directs to the campsite was very unfamiliar with the campground and campsites. We had to clarify with the office multiple times exactly where our campsite was. Campsite markers made it hard to determine where the sites were. Weekends were crazy! There were campers everywhere, in all different directions. There were some very unlevel site that had large muddy/wet areas… ours was fine. Campsites are all grass. We followed the marks of previous camper to determine where to park. Power polls were on the wrong side for ½ the sites. We had to drag water and power under the RV to reach the connections. They had 2 campers in sites that really should have just been one site. Sites had picnic tables, but we couldn’t determine which one was ours—because of the layout. Sewer was not available, but they had “Honey Wagon” for $15. They manage big rigs, but there is no room to spare. There was room in our site for the truck, 5th wheel and jeep, but we could not have set a lawn chair outside. Campground is directly on the river, we enjoyed going down watching kayaks, tubes and canoes going down. They have built a nice little “Garden House” with a porch and a couple of rocking chairs. We took advantage of those multiple times. Good Verizon coverage. It was very easy to get DirecTV satellite. Because of the layout and small sites, I do not think we would stay here again. Although, families and groups of people together seemed to...
Read moreMy husband and I have been members of TRA for a short 2 years. Wally World Riverside Resort(WWRR) is our go-to campground. From the first time we pulled in, the staff has made us feel welcomed. We are the type of members that like to be engaged with members and staff, whether it is participating in the activities or volunteering to help around the campground.
Let me give you an example of how the staff goes above and beyond. During the week of July 4, 2017 the rain came in hard and there was some significant flooding throughout the campground that included about 1/3 of our site. Moving was our last choice. The staff brought skids to our site and industrial rugs to put over the skids because we had 2 dogs with us (to help them get across the skids). When the water receded, they then put down straw.
Returning to the WWRR this spring, boy was the staff busy since last season. They have built up many of the camp sites and improved water drainage. It again rained hard on our last trip and we witnessed this improvement.
What I have also witnessed is the staffs professionalism when dealing with members who are simply not getting their way. The staff's patience is above reproach. They treat every member equally. We recently upgraded our membership do to a large part of how well the WWRR staff manages the campground and their engagement with the members.
If you happen to be camping at WWRR and see our Savage campsite flag, be sure to stop and say hello....
Read moreThis is my home resort where it started in 2016. I was in a pop-up camper and thought why would one need a ‘camping timeshare?’ Here we are 7 years later and I will tell you this is an amazing magical place! It hasn’t even yet been a year since I finally had the chance to upgrade from the pop-up so definitely now think of myself as a camping newbie. I now have a 33 1/2 foot travel trailer and let me tell you, there are many learning curves. We were here 2 weeks ago for an all-girls getaway and several challenges happened that I was clueless what to do with. The ladies at the store immediately called for some maintenance help and much gratitude in them coming to my rescue. Definitely above and beyond! The evening we arrived Walt was a god-send in helping leveling and such. The next few days Jody and his crew helped in other ways. Thanks all! I am here again (8/3/23) and just had the pleasure of meeting the manager Barb. What a beautiful woman who cares so very much for this place! I told her my favorite part here (besides being right on the river and taking in the amazing view) is what I call their ‘meditation hut’ and it is breathtaking! There are gardens surrounding it and it’s a place of pure zen/relaxation. I highly recommend camping here, you won’t be disappointed! It’s small and quaint and the camping vibe is a perfect energy! Thanks...
