We reserved a room a room at this hotel because it was close to the freeway, and we'd had a great stay at another Super 8 in Garnier, Montana during our cross country trip. We were a little concerned when we arrived at this hotel because there was a large crater in the driveway upon entry and the building appeared run down. The lobby was humid and smelled of garlic and perspiration. We were given a key and walked upstairs to check out our room. First, the room had a terrible odor, and the red carpet was badly worn and stained. My husband immediately decided, "we can't stay here." But, we were very tired and I thought, if the bed is clean, we can stand it. So I checked the bed. The bedspread had a big spot on it. I pulled back the cover to find perspiration stains and dark hairs on the pillow. The bed sheets had obviously not been cleaned. We did not take off our jackets or put our suitcases down in the room. We walked back into the hall where the woman who had checked us in said, "What's wrong?!" We informed her of the issues, that we could not stay in the hotel and requested a refund. She replied "I have a new housekeeper and have trouble with her." She wanted to give us another room, but we just wanted to leave. Reluctantly, the woman issued us a receipt, reflecting our refund, and we left to find another hotel in Worthington. When we arrived home in Virginia, my husband found that the Super 8 in Worthington did not, in fact, refund our money. The next morning, the hotel entered a charge for the room we did not stay in, plus an additional charge for a second room on the same date! We have made multiple phone calls to resolve this to no avail. Including to our credit card company and the police. I am not hopeful that we will be be able to resolve the fraudulent charges for two nights stay at the Super 8 we never stayed in. If I could give this hotel a zero rating I would. Forget about the lack of customer service, hospitality or cleanliness. This is criminal and reflects very poorly on...
Read moreGiving this place a one is more than they deserve. Our room had grout missing in the tiles on the bathroom floor which was making the tiles lift while walking on them. The outlet in the bathroom didn’t work nor did the outlets on the lamp so we had to unplug things or go stand by the window (only available outlet that worked) to do our hair. The wall next to the bed had dirty smears on it that I don’t even want to know what they were. The booklet in the room that includes the tv channels and etc had mold spots all over it. The smoke detector was taped up to the ceiling so it’s hard to say if it would have worked if needed. The bathroom sink was missing the drain plug so if someone had dropped something in the sink, it would have gone down the drain. We stayed for multiple days and were there during the day at times so we hung the do not disturb sign on the door as we had a young child that slept during the day. Thankfully I had put the chain on the door because they didn’t knock or anything, they were going to just walk in despite the sign being on the door....while I was breastfeeding. The people doing the cleaning would yell up and down the hallway at each other while my child was trying to sleep. We were in a non smoking room yet our room smelled of smoke. There were holes in the bedding and the towels. We travel and stay at a lot of hotels throughout the year and we have stayed in a lot better for cheaper. We prefer Wyndham hotels because they have been typically lower cost yet decent rooms but this was not the case here. We have also never been charged before checkout until we stayed here. And they charged for more days then what we stayed. We...
Read moreI booked this hotel through a travel site that priced my stay at $60 plus tax/fees. It was advertised as pet-friendly and no charge for my pet. Nothing stated there would be a $10 charge when I arrived. As I drove up to the hotel, I was not pleased. Debris was all over and NOT because of the wind. It was just plain dirty. That should have been my first clue. I looked around and window treatments on several windows wore torn. That should have been my second clue. When we walked into the hotel, the musty, dank smell should have been my third and final clue and I should have walked away. But when the lady on the other side of the counter started out by charging me $10 for my dog and arguing with me about the charges the website I made my reservations on, I asked her to cancel my reservation. She was rude, would not allow me to show her my website reservation and was just totally unprofessional. If you don't care about any other the things I mentioned here, take your chances and stay here for $60-$70. Or pass them up and go to the AmericInn across the street for $120. The Super 8 is over 40 years old (from what I was told) and smelled and looked as such. I'm glad I didn't go...
