My family have come here from out of state, multiple times a year for at least 5 years. We come mostly for friends and family.

We've seen this park evolve slowly...the roads and bathroom are waaay better. Great shower area with mediocre shower heads. One way large loop. Terrible dump station that's often out of service. Entry and exit to the station is bad angles. The dump station is poorly thought out, potholes and sometimes muddy, but still useable when working.

I really like this place, but the people that run the gatehouse have become worse over the years.

As of July 9, 2018...there is two older couples...one is husband and wife...the other is wife and wife.

The wife and wife couple are extremely terrible at customer service. They have managed to be rude to me and 4 groups of friends visiting. If the corps would remove the wife/wife couple, I feel this park would...

I camped out here for a very long time they had shut it down to repave the roads a while back and they did a very good job it is a very good park for sunsets and swimming and camping with lots of area to explore for y'all bush lovers! the skunks are very polite and never sprayed me and the fishermen are very kind and friendly, they have very good hearts also! bring ant repellant if you're trying to get real comfy the ants are not a painful species but this place is real preserved nature so caution is key the staff is absolutely caring and courteous you'd be surprised out here it is my favorite campground along with Lavonia and the lake Lewisville coe park we had a guy from New York make a stop on his journey to California on an electric bike a very courageous and kind gentleman, he had spent 5 weeks riding before his arrival...

Great location. Roads to get here are pretty rough even though paved. Restrooms and showers are clean, although the shower water covers the entire floor as there is no divider on the floor like a lip to keep the water in the shower area. Floor gets slippery. Gates are a real problem if you leave before daylight and try to get back in before 10 a.m., like taking someone for an early flight at DFW or Lovefield. Also, there is no nightlife as your vehicle is locked outside the gate after 10pm. You can walk in only, so get a site near the front gate if you need to go before or after hours of gate. Lots of birds. No fish caught. Site pads okay. Shelters good. Sites clean. No sewage. Blue pipes are for water only. Pretty fall colors...

It is beautiful out here and for the most part quiet except for some rude neighbors who kept flashing flashlights at me when I was laying out for the night. Some even sent their kids to ask me rudely what I was doing there. I just said, turning in for the night, and went back to minding my own business. I started to say I was dodging the Ice Raids in town!! Lol!! The post attendants are awesome with great customer service and attentative and friendly while I drove in and out during my 2 week stay. I'll definitely be back again and make sure I bring my green card in case more curious neighboring campers want to inquire....
