White Oaks on the Lake RV Resort — Hotel in Yeoman

Four of us (girl's getaway) stayed in one of the older 2 bedroom cabins (#68). It was clean and suitable for us at this time. Had a view of the lake, but, if there were many more campers, no view at all. Personnel was very friendly and helpful, service was great. In fact, we brought a bottle of wine, but, forgot the corkscrew ! We told our plight to one of the employees, in about 10 minutes, she brought us a corkscrew.. The beach is raked and cleaned every morning. Nice to have a restaurant and bar right on the beach. ( burgers and tenderloins were very good). Very nice and clean swimming pool located on property. Several cabins have been remodeled, can't wait to stay in one of them, hopefully next year. A large boat docking building is under construction now. That will be nice. There's lots to improve with this property. It has been neglected for many years. But, the new owner has done a great job so far. A wonderful addition to Lake Freeman and the Monticello area. My wife and I came here the beginning of August 2018 and immediately fell in love with the place. Yeah, it still needs some work but it's to be expected for a place that was abandoned for six years. It didn't stop us from taking a seasonal spot as soon as we could, though. Not only is it a great place now, but you can tell it's going to get better as the weeks and months go by. Lisa (the manager) does an amazing job making sure that everything is going well for us. She most definitely cares about the place and the people that come to stay for a spell. White Oaks did right by choosing her. I can't wait for the weekends to be here and I'm already looking forward to next year. The only reason for four stars is that it's still being improved. I can't rightfully give it five stars knowing what this place will become over the next couple of years. But even as it's still being improved, I'm very happy...

Needs work to get back to the nice place it used to be, but the reopened campground is a welcome site! The new owner and the campground manager are making great strides to turn it back into a nice place, where families can have fun times. Looking forward to seeing the progress they make. The Summer Dock bar and grill has good food and friendly service, so hopefully they will be open more hours next season. Update: We're back for another season. The Summer Dock is once again open on the weekend, with the same great, friendly staff! Change in campground management, but they're working hard to get things done...if it ever quits pouring rain long enough! Love...
