Very windy and very beautiful, dry campground (BYO water). Lake level exceptionally low mid summer 2021. No trails, great for water sports. Ok for camping. The good: wow what a view, fun place to float, looks like loads of fun to boat, fish, and jetski, and very convenient from several nearby cities. The people seem pretty nice. The less good: Honestly this was one of the most expensive campgrounds I've ever been to, but also one of the least serviced. In addition to the lack of spigots (not advertised on the website) we did two garbage sweeps on the beach and our camp site, but there was loads I know we must've missed, and lots of it had clearly been there for a while. I think a lot of the trash was related to water storage. One trashed float was too heavy to move for us but it had been there at least 3 days. We arrived Sunday and let me tell you the port-a-potties were Full. I mean FULL. Like I was a little afraid I couldn't sit on the seat without hitting somebody else's tp. They were cleaned Monday and quite nice once cleaned but clearly not keeping up with demand. Trash pickup was Tuesday morning at 6:30am, not really to be helped but super loud. The wind situation and low water level/drought conditions frankly make me think fires shouldn't be allowed here. I don't think it's safe even being cautious and most people won't be. Would come back in a group maybe but I'd treat this as an unmanaged campground in future and hope that we have a better wet season...
Read moreDo not book a site at this campground unless you want to be constantly hounded by the so called owner. As an avid camper with 1000+ trips never experienced anything like this. Unprofessional, extremely unwelcoming, over the top power trip. We've booked this site for numerous years and have never had an issue one time, were are a family group with young kids etc. There inability to allow people to pass through the gate which they lock with no access after hours is insane. We had a group fly in from out of state and were stranded outside because lack of staffing. We were beyond hassled using the wrong bbqs which were electric BTW as suggested by the staff. No electric golf carts allowed as well which would have been nice to know and stated on a booking slip prior. Really bad experience after years of good ones at this campground. We will not be booking here again and will let all of our friends and family know the same. The "owner" runs around with a golf cart rigged up with red and blue lights like hes a cop. They should really work on there customer service, as guests, and paying customers I have never felt more unwelcome and uneasy in my life with all willingness to follow...
Read moreBe AWARE RV generator allowed to run until 10PM with loud noise! The campsite itself is wonderful — beautifully situated right by Lake Berryessa. The restrooms are available and clean (I honestly don’t know why others complain about them), and the staff who manage the site are nice and responsive.we stayed at #16.
The only major downside is the campground’s policy on generators for RV. They allow them to run until 10 p.m., which can be unbearable for families with little kids who go to bed earlier. Our children are 7 and 5, and the constant noise at night made it very difficult for them to sleep. When I asked our immediate neighbor number 15 if she could turn it off earlier, she said management had told her it was permitted until 10 p.m. I called management after hour number and was given the same answer. Unfortunately, once everything quiets down at night, the generator noise becomes even more disruptive.
It was a very uncomfortable experience for us, and unless this policy changes, we won’t be returning or recommending the campground to our friends — which is a shame, because the location and facilities are...
