We stayed at the Forest Lodge Motel in Happy Camp when we were on our way to Crescent City via Hwy 96. We love the back roads and getting away from the everyday highway traffic. I called to make a reservation and Andrea just asked me for my name and number and said they'd see us in a few hours when we got there. (Not too much of that happening these days!) Our room was equipped with two queen beds. We received a discount for not using the second bed. (There's another thing that doesn't happen these days!) The room had a mini-fridge, microwave, TV and coffee pot. The room and bed were comfortable. ||The town is small; a grocery store, pizza place, liquor store, and laundry mat other than homes. The area is beautiful with lots of trees. When we asked about a coffee shop, Andrea said there were none but the liquor store had some available. There is coffee available in your room and in the lobby but we tend to opt out and go out to get own. I do have to say the coffee at the liquor store was good. I even went back for a second cup while we were doing laundry a few buildings down the street. The laundry mat only had a couple working washers and dryers. ||Thanks Andrea for your hospitality. We appreciate...
Read moreAt the california and oregon border this lodge is like an oasis. Its very clean and very well taken care of. Unlike many motels this has upgraded ammenities and very nice staff who are very welcoming and helpful with local issues and know people around the area that can help with other issues. A bus driver from medford oregon broke down and needed a ride back and only had 150 dollars to his name and the hotel staff did their magic with the local community and found someone to take him up there. The staff provides an ice machine and easy access parking while also having enough rooms for previously said bus and semi parking at the lodge. Its located within walking distance of a liqour store, a market, a pizza place, a coffee shop, and river access. The sheets were clean and the air conditioning was amazing. Many seating options including a bench in my room under a desk next to a small table with two rolling chairs. A microwave a refrigerator with a seperate freezer unit attatched and an alcove closet. The bathroom was large and had good lighting and plugs for necessities like razors and toothbrush chargers. Overall I loved my stay here and plan on going back when I get back up...
Read moreBeen doing a lot of exploring in the area and decided to give Happy Camp’s cute little Forest Lodge a try. I enjoyed that the office had no computer and we checked in the good ol fashion way via carbon paper (yes, they take credit cards). Doing this made for a more personable experience. The lady at the front desk was helpful and friendly. I appreciated the time she took to chat with me for a few minutes about the area (I like to ask questions). ||||The room was SO clean and cozy, and the bathroom was huge! WiFi worked well and we found Back To The Future on tv. Mini fridge and microwave worked like a charm. Shower had great water pressure and the beds and pillows were perfect for a restful night sleep. Thank you, Forest Lodge! Keep on keepin on. I would- and will- stay here again. ||||(Check out the coffee and gift shop across the street. You’ll be...
