Five Stars Without Hesitation! One of the Top Vacations I've Ever Had!

J&B’s Desert Hideaway is nothing short of extraordinary — truly one of my top five vacations experiences. From the moment we arrived, John and Bob went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our stay was perfect. Their attention to detail is unmatched; they provide comprehensive information on local attractions, including fantastic restaurants, charming shops, sightseeing spots, and more, making it easy to explore and enjoy everything the area has to offer.

What really blew me away was the thoughtful amenities they supply — toilet paper, trash bags, towels, coffee, tea — nothing was overlooked. We even received a welcoming basket of snacks for us and a special puppy basket for our furry friend, which made us feel so appreciated. No other VRBO has gone to such lengths to make guests feel at home and cared for — it was truly over the top in the best way.

The house itself is beautifully laid out with a perfect blend of comfort and desert charm. I loved the outdoor setup, with carefully placed lighting that beautifully illuminated the landscape at night. We had the chance to spot jack rabbits and roadrunners — an authentic desert wildlife experience! The star gazing is absolutely breathtaking, made even more magical by the comfy reclined chairs, cozy throw blankets, and a fire pit just steps from the house, where we enjoyed making s’mores with our granddaughter.

After long days exploring Joshua Tree (only 25 minutes away), we indulged in the hot tub — pure relaxation! Pioneertown, just 15 minutes away, is a must-see with its adorable shops filled with local artisans. It quickly became one of our favorite spots to browse and soak in the desert vibe.

Throughout our trip, John and Bob’s communication was impeccable. They genuinely rolled out the red carpet, ensuring we had everything we needed before and during our stay. Their care and attention truly made this trip unforgettable.

We loved it so much that we’ve already booked another visit later this year! The decor inside is stunning — a perfect blend of comfort and desert flair — and the home is spotlessly clean and meticulously maintained.

From the moment we arrived at J&B’s Desert Getaway, we knew we were in for something special — and it exceeded all our expectations. The hospitality here is truly over the top. Every detail has been thoughtfully curated with so many extra touches we’ve never seen at any other VRBO.

The hosts, John and Bob, have gone above and beyond—providing detailed instructions for every appliance, from the coffee maker to the hot tub controls. Their restaurant recommendations were spot-on, with reviews and tips that made exploring the local scene a breeze. And the welcome basket? It wasn’t just a generic gesture; it included treats for us and a adorable basket for our dog, complete with toys and snacks! They even shared their phone number, inviting us to reach out if we needed anything — which we didn’t, because everything was perfect.

Speaking of perfection, the decor and condition of the house are simply stunning. Every piece tells a story, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home — but better. The beds were unbelievably comfortable, with the plushest pillows I’ve ever slept on. I was so impressed I had to ask where they got their linens! Every detail, from the cozy throws to the beautiful art, contributed to a space that felt both luxurious and lived-in.

And then there’s the outside! We spent evenings star gazing in a magical setting illuminated by twinkle lights, with tranquil ponds and comfy reclined chairs. The hot tub is the cherry on top — a perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. Honestly, we wanted to pack up and move in! The location is also ideal — just 25 minutes from Joshua Tree and Palm Springs, meaning endless adventures are right at your doorstep. Our time was too short, and we’ve already booked our return.

This place is truly magical — a perfect blend of comfort, beauty, and thoughtful hospitality. John and Bob are genuine class acts; it’s obvious their goal is to create a memorable experience, not just turn a profit. We walked away feeling like we’d made new friends and can’t wait to come back.

A garden of visual delights! I just kept discovering new and charming finds every day. Little knick knacks, lovely artwork, amusing novelty pieces with funny sayings... some very personal to the hosts, I'm sure, but put together in a cohesively eclectic way that was constantly delightful. The wifi is great, the AC is perfect and quiet, it is off the beaten path (the drive once off of the 62 is a bit bumpy and rough, so proceed slowly, especially with a compact vehicle), so the nights were beautiful with expansive skies perfect for star gazing in the comfortable desert breeze... something I did from the hot tub, and would recommend! There's comfy robes provided for your exodus from the tub... or shower... which was also a very nice bathroom with amenities. And the outdoor areas are creative little oases with humor and twinkle lights - solar, of course! I didn't need to use the fire pit in the warmth of summer, but it is a lovely little seated area to star gaze and chat. The kitchen is perhaps the best stocked I've ever seen, with all necessary appliances and more. I could just go about my days and didn't have to wash a paltry few plates daily...the dishwasher very quietly did that for me. It's quite near Joshua Tree and Pioneer Town, and I enjoyed the Saturday Farmers Market, some shops, and an afternoon exploring the park and crawling around on the lunar rock formations. It's close enough to get to these restaurants and everything that Joshua Tree provides. My 3 day stay in this very much home away from home environment was an...
