Caboose park, August 2 night rental. (we stayed in cabin 7 and our friends stayed in 6) - Absolutely loved our stay! The A/C gets nice and cold. Our Cabin came with a box fan and a safety rail which came in handy for my 6 year old. If you bring a smaller fan or two, theres a high shelf you can put them on to point it towards the top bunk beds. The bunk beds are fairly narrow (a tad bit smaller than a twin), but decently comfortable. Very sturdy. There is space between the head of the bed and the wall, so your pillow could potentially fall off. Not a huge deal. The loft bed is two of those matresses put together, so you could bring 2 twin sheets, or one king size sheet. There seemed to be room for a pack n play between the bunks if needed. (We didn't use one). Wasp spray was provided, and located in the kitchen cabinet and we did have to use it. We also needed bug spray for ourselves.

Outside - Cabin 7 has limited shade, but lots of green space for yard games. Cabins 5, 6, and 8 have lots of shade but less "yard" space. The other cabins seemed to have a good mix of both from what I could see. On the deck side of the cabin with the grill and fire pit, there's a large parking lot a few feet away for extra parking. This would be a safe area for kids to ride bikes, scooters, etc. Virtually no traffic and it looked like only the Caboose renters used it. On the other side of that parking lot, a short walking distance through the tree line, leads you to a large field with plenty of trees. The park office is to your left, across the street and lake 2 is close by. There is a lot of green space there, and it's perfect for picnicking, playing football or soccer, etc. It's not visible from the Caboose cabins, due to trees, but it's a very short walk. It would be safe for teenagers and older kids 8+ to play with limited adult supervision. On the other side of the Caboose cabins (non-deck side) is the dead end road that is strictly used for the 10 cabins. Each Cabin has a parking space for 2 cars. This dead end, private road and the private parking space would be perfect for younger kids to ride bikes, scooters, etc. In the large parking lot across from cabin 5 is the dumpster. (The sidewalk next to dumpster will lead you to the large green space as mentioned above.)

Both the park office, and lake 3 are also within walking distance from the cabins.

All lakes (except lake 5) allow for kayaks/paddleboards. There were 9 of us in 2 cabins, and we had 2 paddleboards, so we ended up driving to the beach (lake 4), and swimming/taking turns with the paddleboards, which can be used outside the roped off swimming area.

Little to no cell service inside the cabins. Cell service is hit and miss while outside. I have Verizon and I was in 4G near the cabins. Closer to the park office (walking distance) and at lake 3 and lake 4 I had 5G. My friends have US Cellular and had 5G everywhere (except inside the cabin i believe). My kids have Boost mobile and had no service near the cabins, but did have good service at lake 3 and lake 4. We used Walkie Talkies with a 2 miles range so the teenagers could walk to lake 3 and fish.

Very family friendly place to stay and I plan on returning next summer!

I think it would be wonderful if they added a horseshoe pit, and a volleyball or basketball court near the cabins. There's plenty of space across from the...

Mar 2025 update! The winter has been very harsh to Two Rivers. They have lost a tremendous amount of trees. The park staff has been frequently closing off camping areas and day areas while they cut down and remove trees. For those who plan on camping or spending time at Two Rivers there will be even less shade than last season and it's going to be a hot summer. I looked at many of the areas where trees had come down and it seemed they had blown over at the base. It's a sad situation and I hope they begin planting new trees soon. So far I've not seen any tree planting activity.

Previous- The online reservation fees are way too pricey. And if you cancel your reservation, they'll keep your money anyway! I'd like to know where all that money goes because it doesn't seem to be going back into the park. It's close to Omaha so Two Rivers gets very crowded on the weekends. During the warm weather months there are extremely loud air boats that go up and down the river. You won't get any peace and quiet if that's what you're looking for. The campsites are very close together. Most of the people who camp there are amateurs and tend to be inconsiderate of the other people. They will yell at their kids or yell at their dogs or yell at each other till late at night. Sometimes there are a large groups of people who drink and play loud music. They leave their car or truck engines running for no apparent reason. The tent camping area is completely surrounded by thick weeds and tall trees and doesn't get very good air flow. It seems everyone who goes to two rivers must light their own campfire. Most people don't know how to light fires so they throw a bunch of garbage or paper and try to light it. There's no air flow so at best it smells really bad everywhere, at worst it's just suffocating smoke that you can't escape because there's no wind. I've also noticed that there's a lot more litter and garbage around the park and it seems to be from all the migrants who tend to gather in large masses and play loud music. The crowd seem to disappear shortly before Labor Day. The weather is perfect after Labor Day September and October. And there are less crowds. I highly recommend you visit Two Rivers in...

This is a lovely park for camping and the caboose camper cabins they offer are a fun option. My mistake was to come for hiking - the customer service person told me the trails aren’t marked on the map they give out and he didn’t seem to know for sure if there are any or where I could find them. He did tell me to watch out for hunters with bows. The park is fairly small, we didn’t find any actual trails, I would say it is best for family camping since they do offer many different options for that (cabooses, regular cabins, multiple spaces for RVs and tents). There is a small lake with a beach that’s great for swimming, and you can also swim in the river (although the lake is safer). The cabooses should be reserved online first since they are pretty booked up through the summer. Minimum stay is two nights, so they can’t be booked just for an overnight stay. Overall the park is clean, seems safe, and the nature is pretty. We saw lots of different kinds of birds, including a goose nesting right by the camping area.
